The Military Council

  • The junta Ministry of Health announced that those who had received two doses of COVID-19 vaccination were not to do it for a third time.
  • According to the junta newspaper, Aung Than Oo, the junta minister of Electricity, had discussions with responsible personnel from the power and energy sector in Russia on bilateral investment matters.
  • The junta minister of Communication said that they would help as much as possible for the revival of various kinds of arts. They also arranged for reopening cinemas and felt sorry for the artists who left the film industry for various reasons.
  • U Khin Mg Yi, the junta minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, said that Myanmar was playing an active role in the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration which started in 2021.
  • The second junta leader Soe Win said that responsible personnel and organizations were to focus on effective management of local and international assistance for disaster risks reduction.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The public have been taking part in People’s Defensive War. According to the NUG, there were attacks on 15 military targets of the enemy, 21 administration targets and 3 business targets on Wednesday.
  • At the first committee meeting of the 76th UN General Assembly, U Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the UN, said that Myanmar would follow the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and the Bangkok Treaty.
  • U Kyaw Moe Tun said that the military coup in Myanmar was a barrier against the country’s adoption of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) in 2021. However, Myanmar would carry on with activities for abolishing nuclear weapons.
  • At the ASEAN People’s Forum (2021), U Aung Myo Min, Minister of Human Rights-NUG, would discuss under the theme - “The tendency to be free from legal action or punishment, threat against humanity and justice for Myanmar people”.
  • Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG announced on Wednesday night that Committee Representing CDM Firefighters in Myanmar was established in coordination with people’s firefighters who had joined the CDM.
  • U Aung Myo Min, Minister of Human Rights-NUG, said that freedom from punishment to those who violate human rights would be like empowering them to do it more and on the other hand, victims would not trust the judiciary and existing laws.

Revolution Activities

  • In Tilin Township of Magwe Region, local Pyusawti groups joined YDF Tilin together with a total of 25 hand-made Tumi guns on Thursday morning.
  • On Thursday, a combined rally of Yinmabin East and Salingyi North marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Monywa, there was a bomb explosion at downtown traffic lights at about 7:00 am Thursday. Reportedly, a person died in the incident.
  • As a 249-day protest, Kalay people marched for the end of the military dictatorship on Thursday morning. They also laid a wreath in memory of the people and PDF members who sacrificed their lives in the Spring Revolution.
  • According to local residents, a total of 6 people were killed, including family members of allegedly junta informers in Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region and Sintkai Township of Mandalay Region.
  • In Yangon, youth expressed their desire against the military dictatorship on Thursday, swearing at the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing and chanting “Support the defensive war. There must be war for peace”.
  • According to a communication person of Free Tiger Ranger (Insein Township Branch), they blew up a hand-made mine at Mayangone Township Court as a warning at about 8:00 am Thursday.
  • Carrying guns, the junta armed forces have been calling for payment of electricity bills in Yangon or else there would be electricity blackouts.
  • At about 9:00 am Thursday, a monk made an individual strike against the military dictatorship at the historical Arnandar pagoda in Bagan ancient cultural zone, holding a sign for the immediate release of the monks who were unjustly arrested.
  • In Mandalay, a rally of multi-religions marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • At about 7:00 am Thursday, there was an explosion at the railway station outside Palait in Kyaukse District. According to local residents, at least 10 junta soldiers died.
  • At about 9:00 am Thursday, a time mine was thrown into the compound of the house owned by former UEC chair in Chanmya Thazi Township.
  • In Fruso Township of Kayar State, the junta army shot mortars at a Catholic church on Wednesday. According to local residents, there was damage to the church.
  • In Phalan of Chin State, the junta army ruthlessly shot dead two civilians at Tuphei village on Wednesday night.
  • According to a responsible person of DGWCF, there are guerrilla forces in every township of Ayeyarwaddy Region.
  • In Chin State, the junta army set fire to Thlanrawn, a village that is 8 miles away from Phalan, on Thursday morning.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • Naw El Soe Mu, a CDM policewoman, has been serving as a basic military trainer at Central Military Training School of the Karenni Army.
  • In Hakha Township of Chin State, there was a fighting between the junta army and a combined force of the CNA+CDF on Wednesday. According to CNA, 10 junta soldiers died.
  • According to Free Burma Ranger Karenni, one of their cars fell into a gorge on the way back after sending rations to an IDP camp which had run out of food in Kayar (Karenni) State. Reportedly, one of their members died in the incident.
  • In Kachin State, KIA issued a warning for quick closure of gold mines in Pha-Kant Township.
  • KNU sent a statement of congratulations to the 33rd anniversary of the Democratic Party for a New Society.
  • In a liberated area, TNLA organized a graduation ceremony for female captains who finished their two-year military training.

Summary on 14th October

  • In recent days, there has been no news of the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing. Instead, there was just the news of the second junta leader Soe Win. Unlike Min Aung Hlaing, he is cautious about his speeches. On the other hand, there are discussions not to invite the junta leader to the upcoming ASEAN summit. As for the military junta, they have no supporters in international diplomatic affairs.
  • The NUG is getting the better at international diplomatic affairs and gaining a lot of supporters. Moreover, U Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the UN, has been privileged to deliver speeches at the UN meetings.
  • Despite sending a large number of armed forces, the junta army is faced with a great loss due to powerful CDFs in Chin State.
  • In Sagaing Region with local PDFs in great momentum, the military junta has a lot of casualties. As for Mandalay, Yangon, Magwe, Mon, Kayin, Kayar, Kachin and Dawei, they have revolution activities every day without fail.
  • At the time of just a few junta soldiers operating in the cities due to the fact that a large number of the junta armed forces have been sent to Chin and Sagaing, it is a golden opportunity for urban guerrilla forces.
