The Military Council

  • According to the junta media, the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine, procured from China, arrived again.
  • Soe Htut, the junta Minister of Home Affairs, said that 70% of human-trafficking victims were women and children. That problem was getting worse due to the low economic growth of the countries caused by COVID-19, very few job opportunities, high poverty rate, school closure and persuasion via online.
  • For effective prevention, treatment and control of COVID-19, passport offices had been closed during public holidays. Reportedly, they were reopened on Monday.
  • After vehicle registration offices were reopened in states and regions on Monday, security measures were tightened in those offices and related areas.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • U Aung Myo Min, Minister of Human Rights- NUG, said that the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations would be held in New York on Tuesday. He was glad and thankful that the events were being organized in many countries for keeping U Kyaw Moe Tun as Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations, for recognizing the NUG and against the military junta.
  • The NUG announced that the military council had no interest in politically peaceful solutions. It was certain that they would continue to conduct violence for their long-lasting power.
  • The NUG announced that local people had to form defence forces to protect their areas from the oppression of the junta armed forces after they came to know for sure within seven months that problems could not be solved merely with political and diplomatic efforts.
  • The NUG announced that they would try for their PDFs to respect and follow international human rights and humanitarian laws as well as the rules of the Geneva Convention.
  • The NUG announced that the military junta could attend some international meetings due to the official invitation of some countries. They even reached some agreements with some nations in terms of warfare and economics. It harmed the status of the NUG as the only official government elected by the people.

Revolution Activities

  • On Monday afternoon, a rally of Latbadaung Taung protested against the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans and raising the flag of PDF.
  • In Salingyi Township, local residents of Tawgyaung village led a march against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Shwebo Township, there was a march in a village on Monday for official recognition to the NUG at the United Nations.
  • On Monday, local people of Nammati expressed their desire for the UN’s recognition to the NUG and ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun.
  • In Butalin Township, a rally of various villages, led by monks, expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • On Monday morning, a military ship and 5 vessels with speedboats, tanks and weapons left Monywa and went up along Chindwin river.
  • In Pale Township, residents expressed their desire for the UN’s recognition to the NUG and ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun.
  • In a village of Wetlet Township, a powerful rally of students, youth, the public and staff marched on foot and motorbikes against the military dictatorship on Monday. They also showed their support for the NUG.
  • In Madaya Township, farmers conducted a protest against the military dictatorship on Monday, “If there is a battle, there must be victory”.
  • On Monday, Mandalay Monks’ Union made an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • On Monday, Mandalay Monks’ Union marched for official recognition to the NUG at the UN and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • On Monday, a combined rally of engineers, Mandala University students, Seinban, Myataung and Chan/Zi in Unity marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In Aungmye Thazan Township, there was a bomb explosion at the inspection booth near (19) street and the railway of city train at about 10:00 am Monday. According to local residents, no less than 4 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • On Monday morning, a rally of Aungmye Thazan Schools marched against the military dictatorship, holding Eugenia.
  • In Mandalay, anti-junta youth started their fight against the military dictatorship on Monday, placing a poster “Get free from being slaves of the military junta” near No. (11) police camp.
  • As a 217-day protest, Mandalay Monks’ Union marched for the UN’s recognition to the NUG and ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun.
  • On Monday, Dawei youth carried out a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship, “Revolution in the whole country, victory in the whole country”. They also showed their support for the NUG.
  • In Longlone Township, students and youth led a march for the UN’s recognition of the NUG and against the military dictatorship.
  • In Kanbauk area of Taninthayi Region, some local people expressed their desire on Monday for the UN’s recognition to the NUG and ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun.
  • In the eastern area of Dawei Township, the students and the public marched on Monday morning for the end of the military dictatorship and for supporting the NUG.
  • In Winyay Township of Kayin State, anti-junta youth marched on Monday afternoon for the UN’s recognition of the NUG and against the military dictatorship.
  • In Yangon Region, youth hung a banner somewhere in Alone Township on Monday, “Leave the junta leader and join the public”.
  • On Monday morning, Myanmar Economics Bank in Nay Pyi Taw was crowded with those who made withdrawals.
  • In Gantgaw Township of Magwe Region, the junta armed forces set fire to Hnanka village again on Monday morning. Reportedly, 14 houses, a rice mill and 2 huts were burnt to ashes.
  • In Gantgaw Township, a combined force of Yaw PDF and Mindat CDF attacked the police station in Min village at about 2:00 am Sunday. Yaw PDF announced that a total of 35 policemen died.
  • In Tantalan Township of Chin State, 400 members of CNA and CDF Tantalan started their attack on the junta army camp in Lonele village at about 7:45 pm Saturday. According to CDF, they took control of the camp at about 9:30 pm, 12 junta soldiers died and 12 members of their combined force were injured.

Summary on 14th September

  • Relying on ASEAN, the military council had been trying to gain legitimacy in the international community. As for the NUG, they, in cooperation with partner countries, had been putting efforts for international recognition and keeping the position of U Kyaw Moe Tun as Myanmar’s ambassador to the UN.
  • At such time, no battle news was heard in the areas of EAOs. However, they were likely to be in a position of confrontation. In Sagaing and Chin with powerful local PDFs, there were severe battles and the junta armed forces had a great loss. As military ships and vessels with speedboats, tanks and weapons left Monywa, there might be battles in upper Sagaing and Kachin State in the days to come.
  • Amidst tight security measures, there were public protests against the military dictatorship in Sagaing, Mandalay and Dawei.
