The Military Council

  • The junta newspaper said that there were cases of assassination to those who did not support NLD by hiring assassins, with the attitude that different people are enemies. In addition, there were activities for the instability in the country before the General Assembly of the United Nations which would be held very soon.
  • The junta Central Bank announced that the reference for fixed prices of foreign currency exchange was abolished.
  • According to the junta media, Dr. Charlie Than, the junta minister of Industry, inspected the production of quality products.
  • According to the junta media, Bo Htay, the junta mayor of Yangon, said that Yangon City Development Bank needs to provide quick services.
  • According to the junta media, the period of 6 months was extended for the second time for repayment of COVID-loans to business people.
  • The junta Ministry of Planning and Finance announced that the government staff were to repay their two-month-salary loans starting from October.
  • The military junta announced that those in the livestock and fishery sector, affected by COVID-19 could apply for loans from the COVID fund.
  • The military junta announced that vehicle registration services would resume starting from 13th September.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG announced that they blacklisted and dismissed 13 officers from Central Bank, who kept working under the military junta and conducted a variety of oppression to CDM staff members.
  • In an interview with Mekong media, NLD MP U Bo Bo Oo said that the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing had asked for the position of President three days before 1st February. His request was declined. He was crazy about power and thus, the current situation took place.
  • For Ministry of Defence- NUG, CRPH-OFP led a fund-raising campaign named #5MillionChallenge. Near 1 million Raffle Tickets were sold and earned the fund worth 7.5 million US$.

Revolution Activities

  • In Khin-U Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army beat and arrested Ko Tun Myint Naing on Saturday. They then shot him dead. Reportedly, his dead body was received on Sunday.
  • On Saturday, there was a night strike in a village of Latbadaung Taung area of Salingyi Township, calling for official recognition to the NUG at the United Nations.
  • On Sunday, young people expressed their desire for official recognition to the NUG at the United Nations in a village in Tantsi Township.
  • Myaung PDF announced on Saturday that two junta soldiers and two of their guides died in the fighting at Kyaukyit and Koebin villages on Friday. 7 civilians were killed by the junta armed forces.
  • On Sunday, a rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East expressed their desire for official recognition to the NUG at the United Nations and against the military dictatorship.
  • In Butalin Township, a rally of various villages, led by monks, marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Yinmabin Township, the students and the public from Paukpanphyu village marched in support of the NUG. They also expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • Chanting that NUG is our government and PDF is our army, there was a protest against the military dictatorship in a village of Shwebo Township on Sunday morning.
  • An agreement was reached with the junta armed forces that the battles in Saw area would be suspended until the elderly, women, children and nuns reached a safe place.
  • On Sunday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led a march for official recognition to the NUG at the United Nations and against the military dictatorship.
  • In Wandwin, Ko Mg Mg Than aged 28 died of a wild gunshot by the junta army at about 11:30 pm Thursday while he was listening to music at home.
  • On Sunday, Chanaye Thazan Township Basic Education Students’ Union, in cooperation with No. (12) Middle School Basic Education Students’ Union, distributed sheets of paper calling for the participation of the public in the revolution against the military dictatorship.
  • On Sunday morning, Pyigyi Dagun rally made a motorbike strike against the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Mandalay, a rally of multi-religions marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • In Madaya Township, farmers protested against the military dictatorship on Sunday. They also showed their support for the NUG.
  • In Mayangone Township of Yangon Region, youths marched on Sunday for official recognition to the NUG at the United Nations and against the military dictatorship.
  • At about 11:15 am Sunday, there was a bomb explosion in the dump near the South Okkala vehicle registration office. According to local residents, a child collecting rubbish was injured and so was a passer-by.
  • At about 10:30 am Sunday, there was a bomb explosion at King tea-shop near Thakhin Mya Park in Alone Township.
  • In North Dagon Myothit Township, the junta armed forces shot at a car near Bayli bridge at about 9:00 pm Saturday. Reportedly, driver Ko Aung Ko died and a female passenger was injured in the incident.
  • On Sunday morning, there were bomb explosions in Kamayut and Thaketa townships.
  • In Hleku Township, local PDF destroyed MyTel telecom tower in Aung Mingala Ward by an explosion at about 3:00 am Sunday.
  • On Sunday, Mayangone youth conducted an anti-junta movement for official recognition to the NUG at the General Assembly of the United Nations. They also showed their support for U Kyaw Moe Tun for the position of UN ambassador.
  • In Kayan Township, U Tin Aung, junta-appointed administrator of Kyonetu village, was shot dead at about 10:30 am Sunday.
  • On Sunday, IDPs from Shwe Aung Tha village on the border of Chin State and Magwe Region, which was destroyed by the junta armed forces, expressed their desire somewhere in the forest for official recognition to the NUG at the United Nations.
  • In Longlone Township, young residents led a march on Sunday for official recognition to the NUG at the United Nations and against the military dictatorship.
  • In Longlone Township, a rally of Southern Dawei carried out a motorbike strike against the military dictatorship on Sunday. They also expressed their desire for official recognition to the NUG at the United Nations.
  • Daungmin Operation Force, a local PDF in Thayetchaung Township, announced that they had raided Thechaunggyi police station in Taungpyaut area.
  • In Thayetchaung Township, anti-junta people marched on Sunday, calling on the public to brighten their corner in people’s defensive war declared by the NUG.
  • In a village of Longlone Township, youth expressed their desire on Sunday for official recognition to the NUG at the United Nations.
  • In Pauk Township of Magwe Region, local PDF blew up MyTel telecom tower, owned by the family of the junta leader, on Sunday morning. This was the third tower that had been destroyed in the township.
  • On Saturday night, Baitthanoe PDF blew up two MyTel telecom towers in Natmauk Township.
  • In Gantgaw Township of Magwe Region, the junta armed forces set fire to Htelaw village on Gantgaw-Kalay road at about 7:00 am Sunday.
  • In Winyay Township of Kayin State, the students and the public from Kalitote village marched on Sunday morning for the end of the military dictatorship. They also called for supporting the NUG.
  • More than 60 residents of Lonele village in Tantalan Township of Chin State, which was attacked by a fighter jet of the junta, had run away to Mizoram of India.
  • According to local residents, the junta armed forces beat and arrested a total of 3 people, including 2 wards from Padawdu village, on Friday. Since then, no contact was available to them.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Tantalan Township of Chin State, a combined force of CNF and CDF took control of Lonele camp on the border of Myanmar-India.
  • According to Dawkalu Network, a comrade from KNU, KNLA and KNDO died in an attack at Kabawtu camp and 12 others were injured.

Summary on 13th September

  • Relying on ASEAN, the military junta had been trying to strengthen political and economic affairs. They had been putting efforts into building up the economy with the power of the fishery sector.
  • All across Sagaing Region, there were battles against the junta armed forces. On the other hand, thousands of local residents had to run away due to violence conducted by the military. In Saw area, there was heavy fighting between the junta army and a combined force of local PDF, Yaw PDF, CDF Mindat, CDF Kanpetlet on Sunday morning. In the evening, an agreement was reached between them that the battle would be suspended until the elderly, women, children and nuns reached a safe place. There were constant battles in Gantgaw as well.
  • Amidst patrols by the junta armed forces in Mandalay, various rallies protested against the military dictatorship. As for Yangon, they had guerrilla protests and frequent activities of the guerrilla revolution.
  • In Magwe, MyTel telecom towers, economic pillars of the military junta, were destroyed in many townships.
