The National Unity Government (NUG)

· U Maung Maung Swe, the Deputy Secretary of Ministry of Defence-NUG, stated that they had been carrying out military operations to influence the Sittaung Delta and the western side of the Ayeyarwady River.

· According to Pale Township People’s Administration, the Upcountry Helping Hands donated 200,000MMK to provide food to the displaced people in Pale Township of Sagaing Region.

· Southern Shan State PDF (1008) in the mid-military-region under Ministry of Defence-NUG announced that they had managed to produce M79 40mm launchers and 40mm grenades.

· At 1:00 pm Wednesday, there was a meeting (35/2023) between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration-NUG and Township People’s Administration from Mandalay Region and Magwe Region.

· The NUG stated that taking advantage of the attention of the international community on fighting between Israel and Hamas, the military junta had attacked Mone Lai Khat IDP Camp in Laiza of Kachin State.

· Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun reported to the United Nations that it was clear Myanmar’s military junta had been the cause of social, economic, political and humanitarian conflicts in the country.

Revolution Activities

· In Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region, there was an attack on the junta army stationed at the police station in Hladaw Village. Reportedly, 7 junta soldiers died.

· In response to the attack on the junta police station in Hladaw Village, the junta army shot mortars, injuring two local people. Reportedly, they also burnt public’s houses and shops.

· In Butalin, there were bomb attacks via drone on the junta armed forces in town for two consecutive days. Reportedly, 2 junta members died.

· In Yesagyo of Magwe Region, there was an attack on the junta army stationing in town. Afterwards, the junta troops have been invading the area. Consequently, local people have had to run away.

· In Yesagyo, there was a mine attack on a junta troop of about 30 soldiers on their way out of the local police station. Reportedly, 6 junta soldiers were seriously injured.

· In Aungmye Thazan Township of Mandalay Region, Moe San Oo, a junta police sergeant from No. (4) Police Station, was shot dead. Regarding it, 5 men were arrested at about 10:30 pm Wednesday.

· In Myingyan Township, there was an attack on a car of the junta members on their way from withdrawing their salaries. Reportedly, there were casualties among them.

· In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, the festival of Kyaiktiyo Pagoda will soon be held. The local revolution forces requested the public not to travel unless necessary due to problems of security in the area.

· Giving an excuse for a clearance operation in the area, the military junta committed 22 cases of massacre, according to the National League for Democracy.

· In Longlone Township and Dawei Township of Tanintharyi Region, there were attacks on the two junta camps and the house of local Pyusawti leader. Reportedly, 10 junta soldiers died.

· In Waw Township of Bago Region and Kyaikto Township of Mon State, the mortars fired by the junta army fell and exploded. Reportedly, a child lost their life and some houses were damaged.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· According to Institute of Chin Affairs on Tuesday, 528 Chin ethnic people have lost lives due to the junta’s violations of human rights and their murder in various ways after the military coup in Myanmar.

· Arakan Liberation Party announced on Thursday that they would not recognize the 8th anniversary of the junta’s Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), which no longer had the essence. They added that they stand with the oppressed public and join hands with revolution forces to put an end to the military dictatorship.

· Karen National Union (Central) stated that there had been over 3,500 local battles between their forces and the junta armed forces within 9 months of 2023.

· Karen National Union and Chin National Front called on the international community to take action against the military junta, which had committed a war crime by having conducted an aerial bombing on an IDP camp in Mone Lai Khat Village of Laiza in Kachin State.

The Military Council

· In Tanintharyi Township of Tanintharyi Region, some local villages have been short of rice as the junta army has restricted the transportation of rice in the area.

· Bangkok City Police sent a letter to the junta police, requesting them to arrest a Myanmar young man who had ran from Thailand to Myanmar after having allegedly murdered the former Thai Ambassador to Denmark.

· The Russian government’s Rosatom signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the military junta for the development and assessment of nuclear infrastructure in Myanmar.

· According to the junta Ministry of Economics and Commerce, the foreign trade volume for the first half of the current fiscal year decreased by over a billion USD compared with that of the same period last year.

· Major General Mya Tun Oo, the Chair of the Central Committee on the Right and Smooth Flow of Trade, said that they would help resolve the difficulties of traders and business people.

Summary on 13 October

· In the areas where they have had a great loss, the military junta has banned the transportation of rice and fired heavy artillery against civilians on purpose. They have done the same even to IDP camps. It highlights their cowardly acts.

· The junta military generals have claimed that they would solve the difficulties faced by traders. For self-interest, they have conducted arrest among themselves later. Again, the new Chair of the junta committee uttered the same words.
