The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment-NUG announced that they would carry out the sale of the Spring Lottery in an easier way for the public.
  • In an interview with VOA, U Lwin Ko Latt, Minister of Home Affairs-NUG, said that they support the condemnation of the European Parliament against Serbia, Russia and China exporting weapons to Myanmar.
  • The NUG announced that nearly 70 junta soldiers had died in the People’s Defensive War on Friday alone.
  • Mandalay People's Defence Force called for the public’s participation in fund-raising activities of the NUG.

Revolution Activities

  • In Chanmya Thazi Township of Mandalay Region, there was an explosion of a time bomb at parking space of Starry Bar & Resturant, where the junta children tend to come for relaxation, on Friday night.
  • Guerilla Force of Mandalay (GRA) announced that they would attack KTVs, bars, clubs and casinos connected to the military junta, starting from 9 March.
  • Somewhere in Mandalay, a rally of Mandalay Strike group protested against the military dictatorship on Saturday, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • On Friday, Pyi/Gun rally led by Pyigyi Dagun Sayardaw conducted a night strike against the military dictatorship.
  • On Saturday, Myingyan District PDF announced a special warning to the shops selling Myanmar Beer, a pillar of the military junta, together with a list of their names.
  • On Saturday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • On Saturday, Yangon youth conducted an anti-junta movement, laying banners cursing the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing on Insein Road.
  • In Shwepyitha Township, MO 7(Eagle) YUGA carried out a bomb attack on the junta army stationed in a social welfare office on Saturday morning.
  • Yangon People’s Protest called for public participation in a Candle Strike and campaigns to curse the junta due to power outages throughout the country starting from Saturday.
  • In Kawkarait Township of Karen State, 5 cars including Shwecin Setgya passenger express, were set on fire beyond Titaku Village on Asia Road on Saturday morning.
  • On Saturday, Myawaddy PDF made an announcement calling for the suspension of the use of Asia Road-Myawaddy Kawkarait section.
  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, a rally of local people in a village marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • As a 367-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • In Monywa, local PDFs conducted an attack with 4 missiles on a warehouse of weapons of the Northwest Military Headquarters on Saturday morning.
  • In Latbadaung Taung Area, local people protested against the military dictatorship on Saturday while working on farms.
  • In Pale Township, the junta army raided Thabyay Aye Village at about 8:00 pm Friday and set fire to the people’s houses.
  • In Kalay Township, the junta army invading Tintha Village stepped on mines set by local PDFs on Friday. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • In Wetlet Township, there was a heavy fighting between local PDF and the junta army invading Taunggoke Village again. Reportedly, 6 junta soldiers died and no less than 17 others were injured.
  • In Taze Township, the junta army entered Samesa Village at about 1:00 pm Saturday, opening gunfire. According to Taze Support Organization, junta soldiers killed 2 villagers, including an old woman of 70, by burning them.
  • According to local PDFs, Lin Kant Kyaw, a comrade aged 19, lost his life in a battle against the junta armed forces in Yinmabin Township.
  • On Saturday, youth from Monywa Township Basic Education Students’ Union marched against the military dictatorship, holding anti-junta signs.
  • On Saturday, a rally of Y.R.F youth hung an anti-junta banner at Kyaukka Road in Monywa.
  • In Yetashay Township of Bago Region, Ahtet Najet Village administrator San Lin and 2 Pyusawti leaders were killed on Thursday.
  • In Pakkoku of Magwe Region, there was an explosion at the junta Myanmar’s Economic Bank on Friday morning. Reportedly, there were some casualties.
  • In Kanbauk Area of Taninthayi Region, there was a bomb explosion at a gambling event held under the permission of a junta-appointed village administrator on Friday.
  • In Longlone Township, youth and basic education students union expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Saturday afternoon.
  • On Saturday, Thatone Township PDF announced a warning that the public in Thatone District of Mon State were to avoid going near the junta offices after 14 March.
  • In Shweku Township of Kachin State, local PDF attacked a motorboat carrying 10 junta soldiers including an officer on Friday morning.
  • According to Karenni Nationalities Defense Force - KNDF - Pekhon Zone, they caught two junta soldiers from Regiment (66) in Mobye battle on Karenni-Shan border.
  • In Phakant Township with more than 7 months of internet blackout, local people protested against the military dictatorship on Saturday, banging pots and pans. They also showed their support for the KIA, PDF and NUG.
  • In Pindaya of Danu self-administered area in Shan South, there were frequent cases of clearing junta informers and bomb explosions. According to local people, the junta army strengthened their forces there.
  • On 3 March, the military junta arrested U Htay Lin Aung, deputy administrator of Naungcho Township who had joined the CDM. Reportedly, he was in danger for his life due to the harsh treatment of the junta army in their interrogation.
  • According to UNHCR on Thursday, the number of IDPs all over the country has reached up to more than 500,000 after the military coup. Reportedly, there were over 50,000 others within the week.
  • According to Justice for Myanmar, Telenor purchased Gateway from a Germany company to simultaneously watch phone calls and SMS messages. This amounts to the breaking the sanctions of the EU on Myanmar and thus, JFM called on the governments of Germany and Norway to take action on this issue.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • On Saturday, Naing Aung Min, leader of PPST, said that necessary preparations were to be continued for the meeting with ASEAN Special Envoy.
  • In Phalan Township of Chin State, CNDF attacked the junta army camp in Ward (2) of Rikawda on Saturday morning. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died.
  • According to Karen sources, a combined force of KNLA attacked the junta army in Metayulaw Village at 11:30 am Friday. Reportedly, 14 junta soldiers died, 16 others were caught alive and 29 weapons including many explosives were confiscated.
  • In Myawaddy District of Karen State under the control of KNU 6th Brigade, there was heavy fighting between the junta army and a combined force of KNLA/KNDO/PDF on Asia Road starting from Saturday morning.
  • Pado Saw Daw Ni, CEC member of KNU, said that the NUG and KNU had been carrying out political and military activities with understanding between them.
  • On Friday, there was an event in celebration of the 33rd anniversary of MNDAA based in Shan North and in memory of their founder.

The Military Council

  • On Friday, Sai Kyaw Thu, deputy director general of the junta election commission, presented evidence in court with regard to the charges of electoral fraud against the State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and President Win Myint.
  • According to Telegram, they removed the channels of pro-military Han Nyein Oo and Thazin Oo, which were against their standards.
  • U Kyaw Zayya, Vice-Chair of PPP political party founded by junta-appointed social welfare minister Thet Thet Khine, wrote on social media that he had resigned from the party.
  • On Saturday in Nay Pyi Taw, the junta electricity office staff and junta soldiers cut off power to houses where the owners had not paid their electricity bills.
  • The military junta announced that there would be part-time power outages in some areas of the country from 12 to 18 March. According to some telecom operators, there might be phone and internet outages during that period.
  • From 10 to 12 March, the junta election commission inspected the basic population for the list of eligible voters in Alone Township of Yangon Region.
  • According to the junta ministry of health, a national bio-secured laboratory would be completed in 2023.
  • According to the junta newspaper, diesel fuel, imported through the sale of dollars from the junta Central Bank, would be sold at special prices at 38 shops all over the country.

Summary on 12 March

  • Starting from Saturday morning, there was a heavy fighting between the junta army and a combined force of KNLA/KNDO/PDF on Asia Road in the area under KNU 6th Brigade. Reportedly, 5 cars were set on fire as well. After that, the road section was blocked off for vehicles. The road users are to take caution these days due to military tension there.
  • After the KNU told the junta armed forces to leave Laykaykaw Area and 6th Brigade Area, there might be heavy battles between them.
