The Military Council

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing accused the People’s Defensive War was terrorism. He also instructed the junta Yangon Regional Administration Council to take preventive measures for no more loss of junta soldiers and informers.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that the 2020 General Election was not free and fair due to electoral fraud and that legal action could be taken on that matter.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing instructed responsible personnel to consider everything for the all-around development of Yangon, including peace and stability. He also said that residents should not be contented with the conventional way of life and that with the support of technology, they should strive for socio-economic development.
  • The military junta falsely claimed that the NUG, CRPH and PDFs conducted explosions and violence daily to destroy the peace and stability of the country during the state of emergency period.
  • In 31 townships of Yangon Region, the gathering of 5 people or more was not allowed on roads, streets and lanes. There was also a curfew from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • U Aung Myo Min, Minister of Human Rights- NUG, said that media restriction was like destroying the eye, ear and brain of the country and that they were trying their best for freedom of media friends as soon as possible.
  • Ministry of Health- NUG announced first-aid procedures in case of a bomb explosion.

Revolution Activities

  • In Yesagyo Township of Magwe Region, a combined force of Yesagyo PDF and Myaing PDF shot 3 mortars at the junta army (257) near Fulone village at about 11:00 pm Sunday.
  • According to YDF Htilin, they conducted a surprise attack at Pyusawti members on 3 motorbikes on the way to Zidaw village. Reportedly, a Pyusawti member died and 20 Tumi guns were confiscated.
  • In Minkin Township, local PDF shot down a junta soldier in secret patrol on a telecom tower at Kyaukketat village.
  • On Monday, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship.
  • At about 10:00 am Monday, a convoy of military trucks leaving Dibeyin was attacked with mines. According to local residents, there were exchanges of fire.
  • In Shwebo Township, local people protested against the military dictatorship on Monday morning.
  • According to local residents, over 30 military trucks left Kalay in Sagaing Region for Chin State on Monday morning.
  • In Dibeyin Township, an unknown group set fire to Thityareaik police camp at about 9:15 pm Sunday.
  • On Sunday, local people made a night strike against the military dictatorship in a village of Latbadaung area.
  • As 246-day protest, Kalay townspeople marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Chaung-U Township, a convoy of military trucks from Monywa north west regional headquarters was attacked with mines by local PDF beyond Mancho village.
  • In Fruso Township of Kayah (Karenni) State, there were battles between the junta armed forces and Karenni combined forces on 9th, 10th and 11th October. According to a member of Karenni GZ, 3 members of Karenni forces were injured and no less than 3 junta soldiers died.
  • In Thaketa Township of Yangon Region, there was a mine attack in front of No. (1) police station at about 5:00 am Sunday. Reportedly, no less than 4 military trucks were damaged.
  • In Mayangone Township, a bomb exploded when junta soldiers sat at the traffic police booth in front of City Mart on Thamai crossroads at about 1:45 pm Monday. Reportedly, some of them were injured.
  • In Thangangyun Township, youth led an anti-junta movement on Laydaunkkan road at 4:30 am Monday.
  • In Hlaing Township, Zay Latt, an informer to the junta in Ward 3, was shot dead by an unknown group at about 6:30 pm Sunday.
  • On Monday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • In Mahlaing Township, Kyaw Nyein, a member of the township administration council, was shot dead by 6 gunmen at about 8:00 am Monday while he was eating Monhingha.
  • In Thetkala of Bago Region, Aung Min Oo, junta-appointed administrator of Shwepyiaye Ward, was shot dead at about 11:30 am Monday.
  • According to local sources, a grenade was thrown at Zidaw Township security booth at about 11:00 pm Sunday. Reportedly, 2 junta police died and 2 others were injured.
  • According to Bago PDF, they conducted a mine attack on 2 trucks carrying junta soldiers and coming out of the regional general administration office on Dabinshweti road at about 2:30 pm.
  • In Yebyu Township of Taninthayi Region, youth carried out a night strike against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • According to local observers of military affairs, the military junta keeps sending a large number of armed forces to townships in Chin State.
  • According to local residents, the junta armed forces have been stationing in the compound of Lawka Nanda, a well-known pagoda in Sittwe of Rakhine State, and thus, pilgrims do not feel safe.
  • In Paung Township of Mon State, there was a bomb explosion in the compound of the electricity office at about 9:00 am Monday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • According to Kokang media, there have been battles between MNDAA and a large number of the junta armed forces invading Monekoe area of Shan State since early October.
  • In Kayin State, there was a clash between the junta army from Kawnwe village and KNLA/DKBA at about 8:30 am Monday. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • According to KNU Mutraw, there were 8 battles between the junta army + BGF and KNLA in Pha-Pun District from 7th to 9th October. Reportedly, 8 junta soldiers, including 2 officers, died and 27 others were injured.

Summary on 12th October

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing keeps explaining his legal action against electoral fraud. However, the public has no trust in him at all and they try to fight against the junta armed forces in any possible way.
  • As there were bomb explosions all across Yangon during the tour of the junta leader, military administration had to be declared again in 31 townships of the region.
  • Due to the violence of the military junta, peaceful protests began to turn into an armed revolution.
  • In Sagaing, Kayah, Kayin and Chin, there were heavy battles. Due to the oppression of the military junta, there might be such fighting every day.
