The National Unity Government (NUG)

· In Tanintharyi Region, Township PDFs under Ministry of Defence-NUG organized basic military training.

· In the sub-military region of Karenni, responsible personnel of the Department of People’s Security have been constantly providing training on the dos and don’ts for the PDF related to public security.

· At 10:00 am Tuesday, there was a meeting (40/2023) between the People’s Police Force under Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG and People’s Security Forces from Sagaing Region and Magwe Region.

· The Interim Chin State Consultative Council called on the international community including neighbouring countries to object to the junta’s genocide on ethnic groups.

· Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) released a statement, calling for effective support for democratic groups to bring about justice.

· According to Ministry of Human Rights-NUG, the junta army used destructive bombs, which impacted the area up to 200 feet from the location of the explosion, in the junta’s air strike and heavy artillery on the IDP Camp in Mone Lai Khat Village of Laiza Area in Kachin State.

Revolution Activities

· The National League for Democracy (NLD) announced that the junta army had committed over 20 cases of massacre against 10 people and above, causing total fatalities among more than 590 civilians.

· Canada expressed their shock about the news of the junta’s aerial attack in which 29 civilians including children had lost lives and many others had been injured on Monday.

· On Tuesday night, the Way Musical Film managed to provide 10 million MMK immediately for emergency needs in the incident of the junta’s bombing on Mone Lai Khat IDP Camp in Laiza of Kachin State.

· On Wednesday, the British Embassy stated that the UK Government had been shocked by the news about the junta’s attack on Mone Lai Khat Village in Kachin State of Myanmar.

· On Tuesday, the US and France strongly denounced the junta’s bombing on the IDP Camp in Mone Lai Khat of Kachin State, which had caused a large number of casualties among civilians.

· According to World Bank, there have been negative impacts on the education of children and young people in many battle areas after the military coup which had overthrown the civilian government in 2021.

· In Minhla Township of Bago Region, local PDFs attacked the junta troop invading the area twice within a day.

· In Kantbalu Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army invading the area killed two people. They also destroyed the houses and burnt Paygyi Village.

· On Wednesday, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship, holding signs - ‘Stand with the people from Mone Lai Khat’ and ‘Uproot the fascist army’.

· Stéphane Dujarric, the spokesperson of the UN Secretary General, stated that António Guterres had been deeply concerned about the casualties of civilians including children at an IDP Camp in Laiza of Kachin State due to the attack by Myanmar’s junta army.

· On Wednesday, the youth from People’s Strike Alliance conducted an anti-junta movement at a crowded place in Yangon.

· In Aungmye Thazan Township of Mandalay Region, Generation Z Power Guerrilla Force shot dead Moe San Oo, a junta’s police sergeant from No. (4) Police Station.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· For the victims of the junta’s inhumane war crimes, the three EAOs of the Alliance; Ta’ang, Kokang and Arakan Army, expressed their great sorrow. They added that they are together with Kachin people and Kachin Independence Organization for bringing back justice and truth.

· In Mobye of Southern Shan State, a combination of local revolution forces attacked the junta army in Donedutan Ward. Reportedly, no less than 10 junta soldiers died whereas a PDF member lost his life.

· In Kawthoolei Administration Area under Karen National Union, there were over 3,500 battles from January to September 2023.

· The 23 members, who had served Southern Shan Revolution Youth (1008), officially defected to Karenni Nationalities Defence Force Regiment (2).

· In Nant Kham of Shan State, Ta’ang National Liberation Army arrested a group who had kidnapped a child. Reportedly, one of the kidnappers died and two others were caught alive.

The Military Council

· On Tuesday night, the military junta announced that Brig-Gen Moe Myint Tun and Brig-Gen Yan Naung Soe had been sentenced to lifelong imprisonment equivalent to 20 years due to their abuse of power for self-interest and the acceptance of bribery from business people.

· The junta Union Election Commission called on the public to observe Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine.

· The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Myanmar had been concerned about the ongoing fighting between Israel and Hamas in the Middle East and they had been closely watching the armed conflicts.

· According to the junta Bago Regional Government, they have opened 47 temporary rescue camps for 27,302 flood victims in Bago on Tuesday evening.

Summary on 12 October

· Despite the statements of the international community against the violence of the military junta, they should do more to take action against the junta army.

· The military junta stated that they had concerns about the conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Middle East. Instead, they should admit their war crimes and be held accountable as soon as possible.
