The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • At the 50th meeting on promoting the cooperation of the UN humanitarian and disaster management including special economic assistance under the 76th General Assembly, U Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the UN, called on the international community to provide Myanmar people with assistance for peace, stability and humanitarian aid.
  • With the invitation of David Konecký, Acting Deputy Minister of Czech Foreign Affairs, U Lin Thant, representative of the NUG, joined the discussion on International Human Rights Day.
  • At the UN meeting, Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun said that Myanmar was in a terrible humanitarian crisis and the junta army set strict restrictions on emergency humanitarian aid.

Revolution Activities

  • In Dibeyin Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army stationed in Nagardwin Village. After they left there on Friday, the dead bodies of 6 people were found, according to local residents.
  • In Ayadaw Township, Knights Of The Red Land (KORL) blew up a MyTel telecom tower, owned by the military junta, in Wayaung Village on Thursday.
  • In Salingyi Township, two trucks and a car of the junta army were attacked with mines on Pathein-Monywa Road at about 2:30 pm Friday. According to One Star Task Force – OSTF, there might be casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In Minkin Township, the junta armed forces had a great loss due to a combined force of local PDFs.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Saturday morning.
  • In Yinmabin Township, local residents of Sonechaung Village conducted a dawn strike against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • In Indaw Township, there was a clash between the junta police force and a combined force of local PDFs at about 11:30 am Friday. Reportedly, a civilian died in the incident.
  • On Saturday, youth marched against the military dictatorship on Anawrata Road in the downtown area of Yangon, holding posters - ‘We are revolution flowers that cannot be killed’.
  • Somewhere in Yangon, a combined rally of students’ unions from various townships conducted a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship on Saturday, under the theme - ‘If there is fighting, there is victory’.
  • In Tontay Township, junta soldiers opened gunfire and threatened the public not to open shops and not to go out on Saturday morning as they had joined silent strike on Friday.
  • In Pha-Kant of Kachin State, a powerful rally of local people marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday. They also expressed their support for KIA, PDF, NUG and NUCC.
  • Operation Spitfire released the list of 240 officers from the junta Air Force, who had been carrying out engineering activities for the fight against the public with fighter jets and helicopters.
  • Reportedly, the U.S, Canada and Britain set sanctions against four prime ministers appointed by the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing, War Veterans Organization and two offices related to the junta army.
  • According to Dawei Political Prisoner Network, 3 young political activists in Dawei Prison received one-year imprisonment on Thursday at the jail court.
  • In Mandalay, a house on (71) street, between 107 and 108 streets, was unlocked by force and belongings were taken away on Saturday.
  • On Saturday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • On Friday, AA announced that there might be battles between them and the junta army anytime due to some issues including the matter in which the junta armed forces took place on the way up to Sandaw Pagoda with an excuse for renovation. Therefore, they had been keeping a close watch on the military operations of the junta army and thus, it was necessary for those who would go to the pagoda festival to take special caution over warfare activities.
  • In Tanai Township of Kachin State, a troop of about 80 junta soldiers on foot was attacked with mines by a combined force of KIA and MHH at about 7:00 am Saturday.
  • In their statement on the 72nd revolution day by PNLO/PNLA on Saturday, they called on all Pao ethnic people to put an end to the military dictatorship and build a federal union.
  • In Pulaw Township under control of KNU, a combined force of PDF and KNU attacked about 100 junta soldiers invading the area.
  • KNU announced that their congress, which had been suspended due to political crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, would be held in early 2022.

The Military Council

  • After AA announced that there might be battles anytime, the junta minister of Security and Border Affairs of Rakhine State told local media that junta soldiers, who had been on the way up to Sandawshin Pagoda, would leave there after renovating the street.
  • On Friday, the junta Ministry of Health called off a stay-at-home order in 8 townships of Kachin, Chin, Magwe, Mon and Shan.
  • According to the junta newspaper, there were protests against NUG, CRPH and PDF, arranged by the junta army, in some areas of Yangon as a response to the silent strike conducted nationwide.
  • The junta newspaper falsely claimed that there were just a very few shops, students and people in some cities and towns on Friday as the NUG and CRPH threatened the public online not to go out and join the silent strike.
  • According to the junta newspaper, a junta soldier, who had committed rape against an old woman in Phakat Village of Kutkai Township, was sentenced to 20 years in prison and legal action was taken against other responsible personnel as well.
  • At a graduation ceremony of the Military Engineering Academy, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that constant learning must be done to skillfully invent and apply military science as the stage of discovery turned into the stage of invention in terms of science and technology.

Summary on 11th December

  • As a response to the silent strike, a hard blow to the military junta, junta soldiers did not allow people to open shops on Saturday. They also opened gunfire for no apparent reason. Relying on their weapons, the junta armed forces with an inferiority complex threatened the public. Moreover, the junta newspaper falsely claimed that the public dare not go out as the NUG threatened them. Such activities show their sense of fear for the revolutionary spirit of the public.
  • After AA released a warning that battles might break out anytime in Rakhine State due to attempts of the junta army to gain influence in the area, the junta minister said that junta soldiers on the way up to Sandawshin Pagoda would leave there after their renovation. Assumingly, the military junta tested the influence of AA in the area. However, they were not able to conduct a new military operation there. As for AA, they could not carry out offensive attacks due to the Rakhine people who had suffered too much from warfare activities. However, AA might not hesitate to fight back if the junta army invaded the area.
  • There were heavy battles in Sagaing Region. As for Chin, Kayah, Kayin, Kachin, Shan North, and Taninthayi, they had warfare activities.
  • In Yangon, Mandalay and Magwe, there were public protests and guerrilla revolution.
