Spring Revolution Daily News for 11th October 2021

The Military Council

  • The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it was breaking global anti-terrorism law when international organizations, embassies and individuals support the National Unity Government (NUG) and Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) in terms of Myanmar’s political affairs.
  • Mg Mg Ohn, the junta Minister of Communication, said that film shooting could get started following preventive measures due to the ability to control COVID-19 and that artists were to entertain the public under the heavy burden of stress.
  • With an excuse for the peace process, the military junta met with political parties in Nay Pyi Taw, saying that they would establish a group comprising political parties.
  • According to basic education staff, the military junta instructed basic education schools in Ayeyarwaddy Region on 5th October to reopen in November.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Friday, U Aung Kyi Nyunt, Chair of CRPH, sent a statement to the Chair of the European Parliament, welcoming and expressing thanks for their decision to support the NUG and CRPH.
  • After the NUG declared a state of emergency, there were at least (135) cases in which the military junta conducted unlawful activities against innocent civilians from 7th September to 6th October.
  • The NUG announced that the military junta openly broke rules in times of armed conflicts contained in the Geneva Convention and arrested over 341 people for the use of human shields.
  • Ministry of Defence- NUG announced that they would collect the biographies of the heroes who had sacrificed their lives in defensive wars.
  • The public has been taking part in the People’s Defensive War. According to the NUG, there were attacks at 23 military targets of the enemy, 21 administration targets and 3 business targets on Saturday.

Revolution Activities

  • In Sagaing Region, Shwebo PDF threw no less than 10 grenades into Shwebo Police Station where a vinyl sign had been hung- “Don’t come and surround us. It’s fatal”.
  • As a 245-day protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • On Sunday morning, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East expressed their desire against the military dictatorship.
  • At about 9:00 pm Saturday, a convoy of 4 military trucks was attacked with mines by a combined force of PDF - South Monywa, Monywa Heroes Group and Monywa Nightking. Reportedly, two of them were damaged in the incident.
  • Under the name of Athinkaya Operation, PDFs in Sagaing attacked the targets of the military junta with 9 bombs the previous day.
  • At about 4:20 pm Saturday, a convoy of military trucks was attacked with mines by Iron Group representing Monywa PDF on Monywa-Pathein road in Salingyi Township.
  • In Pale Township, junta soldiers on motorbikes were attacked with mines by local PDF, led by Captain Dragon, at about 9:00 am Sunday. Reportedly, 6 junta soldiers died and 3 motorbikes were damaged.
  • In Thingangyun Township of Yangon Region, there was a bomb explosion in front of Thuwunna Police Station at about 11:30 am Sunday.
  • In Kamayut Township, there was a bomb explosion near a tyre shop on Ywama street at about 11:20 am Sunday.
  • In Dala Township, a hand-made bomb exploded near the police station at about 9:10 am Sunday.
  • In Thaketa Township, Burma Final Revolution Armed Forces blew up two bombs in front of the junta navy on Sunday. In the mine clearance activity, 2 or 3 junta soldiers were seriously injured.
  • On Sunday morning, there was a bomb explosion in the opening ceremony of Nweaye Ward administration office in Dawbone.
  • In Bahan Township, a bomb exploded at the traffic police office on the crossroads of Damazady and Inlya at about 10:30 am Sunday.
  • In Thanlyin, there was a bomb explosion near township court and city development office at about 10:00 am Sunday. Reportedly, a person was injured.
  • In North Dagon, two bombs exploded near Bahtoo Housing on Sunday morning.
  • In Bazundaung Township, an unexploded hand-made bomb was found at the foundation of the fountain in front of Orchid Hotel, owned by U Htay Aung- a close affiliation of the military junta, in Ward (1).
  • After the warning of local PDFs, ward and village administrators in Thonekwa Township resigned from their position.
  • In Magwe Region, two troops of over 150 junta soldiers were attacked with mines on Saw-Kyauktu road section at about 5:00 am Saturday. According to Yaw Defence Force, no less than 20 junta soldiers died.
  • In Pakkoku Township, there was a protest against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • The junta armed forces have been using truck drivers as human shields on Gantgaw-Kalay road joining Magwe Region and Sagaing Region.
  • In Kachin State, students’ unions made a campaign somewhere in Myitgyina on Sunday, calling for a boycott against the bloody business of the junta army.
  • Mon State Spring Revolution Force announced that U Hla Win, hundred-household leader in Maungngan Ward, was shot dead near the traffic lights at about 4:30 pm Friday.
  • According to Chin Human Rights Organization, the PSO and the driver of Major General Myo Hlaing, deputy chief military officer of north west region, ran away from the junta army based in Hakha.
  • On Sunday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • In Kyainseikgyi Township of Kayin State, a combined rally of local women, named Iron Rose, marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Sunday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • Saw Bi Htoo, Chief Military Officer of Karenni Army, said that the whole country, including women, protest against the junta army and no one supports them. As Min Aung Hlaing is about to lose, he made an offer through deputy major general Ya Pyay. However, KA did not accept that offer.

Summary on 11th October

  • As the military junta does not get the support of the international community, they are in a position to have arguments with the whole world. On the other hand, they have been conducting violence throughout the country with their armed forces. Giving the reason for peace, they tried to persuade ethnic people and establish a peace group with political parties which did not get elected in the general election. However, EAOs realized their prejudice to fight against the public’s revolution and thus, they did not accept their offer.
  • The defensive war has gained momentum with new revolution areas. On Sunday, there were bomb explosions all across Yangon. As for Sagaing, they have powerful PDFs with a stronger network and thus, the military junta is faced with a great loss there. There were cases in which soldiers and officers ran away from the junta armed forces. There were revolution activities even in Sagaing, the city close to Mandalay.
