The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Ma Ei Thinza Maung, the NUG Deputy Minister of Women, Youth and Children, said that receiving the International Women of Courage Award for 2022 from the U.S Foreign Ministry was a victory for the NUG and the Myanmar people.
  • The NUG announced that nearly 60 junta soldiers had died in a People’s Defensive War on Wednesday alone.
  • According to the acting commander of Shwebo District No. (6) PDF, they have been receiving assistance from the NUG Ministry of Defence since February.

Revolution Activities

  • In Waw Township in Bago Region, a deputy police officer was shot dead at about 7:30 pm on Wednesday, according to a local PDF and residents.
  • In Tantsi Township of Sagaing Region, the junta police happened to step on their own mines in Kantuma Police Station. Reportedly, there might be casualties.
  • In Salingyi Township, local people marched against the military dictatorship as part of a 365-day protest, holding signs saying ‘Freedom is not free’.
  • In the Saw Area, there was fighting for two days between the junta army and an alliance of PDFs. Reportedly, at least 15 junta soldiers died.
  • In Shwebo, a military car on patrol was attacked with mines. According to BLACK WOLF PDF, a junta soldier died.
  • In Yangon, a rally marched in memory of a violent crackdown on a democracy education strike seven years ago.
  • On Thursday, there was an anti-junta poster put up at Mahlwagone Station.
  • Somewhere in North Okkalapa Township, a combined rally of students’ unions and young activists hung a banner saying ‘You might be able to kill revolutionists, not the revolution’ in memory of the 2nd violent crackdown on a protest there last year.
  • Reportedly, local PDFs conducted bomb attacks on the electricity office in Hlaingthaya and a MyTel telecom tower owned by the junta army in North Okkalapa.
  • In Longlone Township in Tanintharyi Region, a combined rally of youths and the basic education students’ union marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Myeik Township, a convoy of the junta regional chief minister was attacked with mines. Reportedly, two junta soldiers were injured.
  • In Longlone Township, youths protested against the military dictatorship on Wednesday night, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Dawei Township and Yebyu Township, the junta armed forces arrested 14 people, including university students, within a week.
  • In Thandaunggyi Township in Karen State, a convoy of military trucks carrying rations was attacked with mines near Thaughtyekat Village on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, three junta soldiers died and seven others were injured.
  • In Dimawso Township in Karenni State, the junta army conducted air strikes with fighter jets on Thursday morning. Reportedly, a church, a nunnery and a home for the aged were damaged.
  • In Rakhine State, the junta police, soldiers and municipal staff destroyed houses near Sittway Cemetery starting from Thursday morning. According to residents, IDPs had been staying there as well.
  • In Saw Township in Magwe Region, the junta army was attacked by an alliance of local PDFs on Tuesday and Wednesday. Reportedly, no less than 15 junta soldiers died and no less than 10 others were injured.
  • In Kyaukse in Mandalay Region, a local PDF carried out a grenade attack on five members of the junta police and traffic police clearing the way for a convoy of junta officers at 9:00 am on Wednesday.
  • In Myitnge of Amarapura Township, the junta armed forces threatened squatters on Wednesday that they would have to pay costs if they fail to remove their houses within two days.
  • In Bogale in Ayeyarwaddy Region, Ye Zaw, allegedly an informer to the junta police, was shot by a local PDF at about 6:00 pm Wednesday.
  • In Hpakant in Kachin State, local people conducted a night strike against the military dictatorship on Wednesday. They also showed their support for the KIA, PDF and NUG.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • At 1:00 pm on Thursday, there was a meeting in Chiang Mai between Major General Yawd Serk from RCSS and Mr. Sasakawa, Japan's special envoy for national reconciliation in Myanmar.
  • At 10:30 am, there was a meeting between Mr. Sasakawa, Japan's special envoy for national reconciliation to Myanmar, and a team led by the KNPP Chair.
  • At 9:00 am Thursday, there was a meeting between KNU Chair and Mr. Sasakawa, Japan's special envoy for national reconciliation to Myanmar.
  • In Karenni State, a CDM teacher named Zaw Lin Tun and a 2nd year nursing student named Elizabeth were shot dead by the junta army on Wednesday.
  • In Phalan Township in Chin State, the CDF attacked the junta army camp in Ward (2) of Rikhawdar on the India-Myanmar border. Reportedly, two members of the junta armed forces died.

The Military Council

  • According to the junta newspaper, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing received H.E Mrs Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, the Thai Ambassador, who was about to leave the country after finishing her term in Myanmar.
  • Reportedly, the junta leader gave a video conference speech to lecturer officers and trainee officers at the Defence Service Academy. He said that democratic administration would be carried out to establish a union based on democracy and federalism.
  • U Win Thaw, the Chair of the junta Central Bank, said that a monitoring committee for gold and money markets would be set up. He also said that private banks and business people would have to cooperate with them.
  • The second junta leader Soe Win said that it was a priority to implement a national land management policy for effective land management.
  • According to military sources and local residents, the junta acting president Myint Swe, who had been out of public sight, came to the Sakura Tower Dental Clinic in downtown area of Yangon on Thursday.
  • Reportedly, the military junta made another lawsuit against Ma Moe San Su Kyi, the daughter of the former Chief Minister of Rakhine State, under Section (17/1) for contacting a blacklisted organization.
  • The junta leader said that during the tenure of the NLD government the GDP had shrunk and they had left a trade deficit of over 12.61 billion USD.
