The Military Council

• The 7th Greater Mekong Subregion Summit was conducted via video conferencing. According to the junta media, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing joined it and delivered a speech.
• According to the junta media, a Telenor telecom tower was destroyed by a mine explosion in Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region.
• According to the junta media, U Wunna Mg Lwin, the junta minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the meeting of foreign ministers on 11th Mekong-Korea cooperation held via video conferencing on Wednesday afternoon.
• The military junta announced that the NUG triggered violence to destroy the social-economic lives of the public and stability of the nation by releasing an announcement declaring a state of emergency on 7th September.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

• In an interview with Ayeyarwaddy news agency, Daw Zin Mar Aung, Minister of Foreign Affairs-NUG, said that the NUG had to declare the public’s resistance war as the regional and international community were too slow in dealing with Myanmar’s affairs.
• The funds in foreign accounts would be spent for humanitarian aid, COVID-19 prevention and local workers on strike as well as for local and international activities of the NUG.

Revolution Activities

• In Myaung Township of Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces shot mortars non-stop towards Myitsone village with 800 households. Consequently, the whole village had to run away, according to a member of the local PDF.
• In Monywa, members of the junta army, who were conducting inspection in the city, were attacked with a mine on Thursday.
• In Yinmabin Township, local residents of Shwe Nwe village marched against the military watchdog on Thursday.
• In Myaung Township, there were battles at two locations from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Wednesday. They were between the junta army and a combined force of CDSOM, 27 Revolution Force, Bad Guys with Good Hearts, PDF-Taloke. CDSOM announced that 12 junta soldiers died and a police station was burnt down.
• In Myaung Township, local PDF attacked Kyauk-Yit police station on Wednesday afternoon. According to Myaung PDF, a police officer and two other policemen joined them. The two members of the junta army, who refused to join the CDM and made a counter-attack, died. As for the PDF, they had no casualties.
• In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of Yinmabin and Salingyi townships marched against the military dictatorship.
• As a 214-day protest, Kalay townspeople expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Thursday morning.
• In Ayadaw Township, 7 telecom towers of the military-owned MyTel were destroyed by an explosion on Wednesday night.
• In Tantsi Township, MyTel telecom towers were destroyed by mine explosions near Taungthwin village and in the east of Kanthit village on Wednesday night.
• According to local residents, a Mawsi village administrator and a Pyinkonegyi village administrator were shot dead on the spot by unknown gunmen at their houses in Northern Kalay at about 9:00 pm Wednesday.
• In Indaw Township, 3 traffic policemen were shot by unknown people on Wednesday night as they were on their way back to Katha from a Nabar check-point. Reportedly, a second sergeant died and another policeman was missing.
• In Shwebo Township, a staff member of the general administration department was shot dead on Wednesday morning.
• On Thursday, a banner was hung at Hledan junction in Yangon Region, calling for participation in resistance war for the freedom of the public.
• In Bazundaung Township, young people protested against the military dictatorship, placing an anti-junta banner on Yegyaw road.
• In Tontay, U Kyaw Hla, a Kanbe village administrator, was shot dead on the spot near Kanbe junction traffic-lights at about 9:00 pm Thursday.
• At about 11:30 pm Thursday, the Urban Guerrilla Force attacked a police camp near the railway and Thitsait bus-stop between Dagon Myothit Seikkam and South Dagon Myothit.
• In North Dagon Myothit, two bombs exploded near two military trucks on Dabin Shweti road in Ward (36) at about 9:00 pm Thursday.
• In Dagon Myothit Seikkam Township, there was a bomb explosion at a city development office near Shweli road on Thursday morning.
• In Insein Township, anti-junta youth raised a black flag and burned it on Thursday morning, welcoming D-Day which got started for the fight against the military junta.
• · In Mingala Taung Nyunt, Township General Strike Committee made an anti-junta movement on Thursday morning, hanging anti-junta banners on the street around Kandawgyi.
• On Wednesday, the Hlegu PDF announced that they would punish 16 people who betrayed the public.
• On Thursday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led a protest against the military dictatorship.
• On Thursday, Mandalay Monks’ Union made an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
• On Thursday afternoon, a combined rally of Mandalay engineers, Mandala University students, Myataung and Chanmya Thazi marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
• On Thursday morning, a combined rally of Aungmye Thazan Schools and those representing the detainees marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
• At dawn on Thursday, a rally of Mandalay variety force marched on Manawhari road and protested against the military dictatorship.
• In Dawei, youth led a march against the military watchdog on Thursday.
• In Longlone Township, hundreds of protesters expressed their desire against the military dictatorship on Thursday morning, chanting anti-junta slogans.
• In Phekone Township of Shan South, local PDF destroyed MyTel telecom towers in Taungbogyi village and Kafushay village on Wednesday.
• In Muse Township of Shan North, Saikyau camp of the junta people’s army in Selant village was burnt down at about 8:30 am Thursday.
• In Pakkoku of Magwe Region, PKU N PDF destroyed a MyTel telecom tower at the back of No. (17) primary school in Ward (3) at about 4:00 am Thursday.
• In Swa of Bago Region, Ko Thein Chit, allegedly a junta informer and Pyusawti member, was arrested and shot dead by unknown people on Thursday morning.
• In Tantalan, there was an exchange of fire at about 1:00 pm Thursday. According to local residents, a woman was hit with a bullet and two junta soldiers died.
• In Yegyi Township of Ayeyarwaddy Region, there was an explosion at the house of U Myo Min Thein, former administrator of Zayethla village, via a parcel bomb. Reportedly, he was sent to hospital for medical treatment.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

• On Thursday, KNU Information and Communication (Central) made an announcement not to post in a rush on online pages, with regard to the news of battles between KNU and the junta armed forces.
• On Wednesday morning, the junta army was attacked with a mine by KIA at Lagyawan on Tanai-Shinbweyan road. Reportedly, at least 4 junta soldiers died and some others might be injured.
• After a PPST meeting (19/2021), the EAO which signed the NCA announced that together with the public, they would be committed to the downfall of the military dictatorship and the establishment of a federal democratic union.
• Focal persons of the KNU Ministry of Home Affairs and Religious Affairs said that Kayin National Police Force (KNPF) and Kayin National Liberation Army (KNLA) would need to cooperate in the fight. He also called on the public to support the KNPF.
• KSCC announced on Thursday that a combination of Karenni forces had been fighting against the junta army in Kayar (Karenni) State since 23rd May. There might be more battles as the NUG declared a state of emergency on 7th September. The public were not to panic and just to take caution.
• In Bawlake Township of Kayar (Karenni) State, the junta army in Nanphe village shot mortars wildly towards the farms at about 10:30 am Thursday. According to local residents, a farmer, who was harvesting sesame, died and 3 others were seriously injured.

Summary on 9th September

• With regard to the NUG declaring resistance war, the junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said he did not take it seriously. However, public’s revolution was powerful all across the country. Unlike before, there were more and more guerrilla attacks. In Yangon, Mandalay and Sagaing, armed revolution became more severe with frequent activities. The junta armed forces had to face enemies who appeared out of nowhere. In a state of confusion, they might oppress the public and conduct violence.
• In Mandalay and Sagaing, there were still public protests against the military dictatorship. As for Sagaing, they had great momentum in armed revolution. As there were many cases of military trucks being attacked with mines, the junta army conducted more oppression to the public. Consequently, local residents had to run away from them. Sagaing was important to the military junta as it was the key in transportation to Chin State. Their convoys were attacked every now and then and thus, they oppressed the public in the region. Nevertheless, they still couldn’t take control of it.
• In Chin, Kayar, Kayin, Kachin, Shan North and Taninthayi, there were battles between EAOs and the junta armed forces.
