The National Unity Government (NUG)

· Ma Ei Thinza Maung, the NUG Deputy Minister of Women, Youth and Children, was one of the recipients of the International Women of Courage Award(IWOC) for 2022 awarded by the U.S Foreign Ministry.

· According to the right of self-defence, the public has been taking part in a People’s Defensive War. The NUG announced that 36 members of the junta armed forces had died and 13 others had been injured on Tuesday.

· The Acting President of the NUG sent his best wishes to honor all women including those who protest peacefully against the military junta, those who join the CDM, those who carry out humanitarian and fund-raising activities, those in political leadership and armed revolution, and mothers and children who have lost their lives in the fight against injustice.

· The Acting President of the NUG said that as they were the government mainly responsible for the victory of the revolution, they must make an effort so that the public does not lose hope and the revolution suceeds soon.

· Union Prime Minister Man Win Khine Than said that staff who had joined the CDM for more than a year might feel dissatisfied while running away and struggling for life. There might also be complaints about not receiving enough weapons from PDF members who had let go of everything and attended military training in jungle. On the other hand, the NUG had been taking necessary action according to the situation. However, there are many limitations to informing the public about all their activities.

Revolutionary Activities

· On Wednesday, the Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.

· In Myitnge in Mandalay Region, the junta armed forces blocked off all the ways to town from 8:00 am on 5 March. They have been threatening the public with bad language and local people have had to demolish their own houses and move away.

· In Shwepyitha Township in Yangon Region, a combined force of the Yangon Urban Guerrillas conducted an attack with 2 grenades at the USDP office in Ward (11), where the junta armed forces had planned to station themselves. The Yangon Federal Army -Y.F.A, said it did not know details about the incident, but it said there might have been casualties among junta soldiers.

· On Tuesday, there were anti-junta signs at the gate of Yangon Technological University.

· On Wednesday morning, local residents of Shwepyitha Township protested against the military dictatorship and conducted an event in memory of Ko Zaw Myat Lin, the headmaster of the Su Institute for vocational training who lost his life last year due to ill-treatment by the junta armed forces.

· From 28 February to 9 March, there were campaigns calling for comprehensive economic sanctions for the complete downfall of the military dictatorship. According to campaigners, more than 400 workers, students and people joined them.

· In Yinmabin Township in Sagaing Region, there was heavy fighting between the junta army and a local PDF near Kantha-Latpandaw Village from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Tuesday. Due to mortars fired by the junta armed forces, eight people died.

· In Khin-U Township, the junta army raided Theindaw Village on Tuesday afternoon. According to local people, junta soldiers killed 11 PDF members and three civilians and discarded their bodies.

· On Sunday morning, there was chaos in Monywa Prison as prison authorities and bad-natured prisoners oppressed political prisoners.

· In the Letpadaung Taung Area, local people conducted a protest against the military dictatorship while working on farms on Wednesday morning.

· On their 395th day of protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday morning.

· On their 36th day of protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday, holding anti-junta signs.

· In Yesagyo in Magwe Region, junta soldiers on secret patrol at Phaungdaw-Oo Pagoda shot dead a member of the police force and a civilian at about 9:30 pm Tuesday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

· In the Laykaykaw Area under the control of KNU Brigade (6), battles have resumed between the junta armed forces and KNLA combined forces in recent days. Reportedly, there were air strikes by the military junta using three fighter jets on Wednesday.

· In Kyaikto in Mon State, a junta army patrol in a Hijet was attacked by KNLA combined forces near Ingabo Village at about 10:35 am Wednesday. Reportedly, five junta soldiers were injured.

· KNU Brigade (6) informed the junta southeast regional commander that the junta army in Laykaykaw and southern Kawkarait to leave the areas on Wednesday at the latest and if they failed to do so, it would be the military junta, not KNU Brigade (6), who would be responsible for the consequences.

· In Moekaung Township in Kachin State, a military convoy was attacked with mines by the KIA and PDF at about 7:00 pm Wednesday. Reportedly, sergeant Nay Myo Htet died on the spot.

· According to the CNF/CNA, there were 18 battles between the junta armed forces and Chin Defence Forces from 27 February to 7 March. Reportedly, over 80 junta soldiers died. As for the local defence forces, they lost four members.

· According to KNDF, no less than 43 junta soldiers died in battles in Karenni State in the first week of March. As for the KNDF, they lost two members. Moreover, five people were killed by junta soldiers and three children in Lehtwe Village died due to mortars fire from the junta army.

The Military Council

· U Oo Hla Thein, the spokesperson of the junta administration in Rakhine State, said that Ahn and Taunggoke had been registered as districts.

· According to the junta ministry of information, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing, who had been out of public eye for over a week, delivered a video speech at a ceremony for International Women’s Day.

· The junta leader said that women were valuable resources for the country and thus, their capabilities need to be applied effectively in various sectors including climate change related activities.

· According to the junta newspaper, there was a friendly trip on Tuesday to promote cooperation between the junta army and Royal Thai Army, where they exchanged art and culture.

· Reportedly, 6 SU-30SME military planes made in Russia, which had been bought by the junta army for 204 million USD as part of a 2018 contract should arrive in Nay Pyi Taw soon.

Summary on 10 March

· KNU Brigade (6) warned the military junta to withdraw the junta armed forces in their areas because there might be a defensive war by the whole brigade and resulting in heavy fighting.

· In Karen, Karenni, Chin, Kachin and Sagaing, there were frequent battles. In Karenni State, there were invasive attacks by the junta armed forces. As for Karen State, there they prepared for guerrilla attacks. In Sagaing, local PDFs had to fight against junta soldiers setting fire to villages and killing civilians.

· In Yangon and Mandalay, there were still protests and guerrilla attacks against the military dictatorship.
