The Military Council

  • According to the junta newspaper, there was a meeting of the central committee between the junta Central Bank and other ministries for smooth and swift trade flow. They had discussions about how to handle volatile prices due to high rates of foreign currency exchange and how to help with financial stability.
  • Under the Department of Education and Training of the junta Ministry of Border affairs, rescue teams for natural disasters will be established with a total of 2300 students from the University for Ethnic Development, college and training schools.
  • At an ASEAN ministerial meeting on combating transnational crimes under the ASEAN Political and Security Pillar, the military junta said that Myanmar was ready to cooperate with other member states for security, stability and prosperity in the region.
  • At the press conference on Thursday, the junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said that Danny Fenster, an American citizen and newsroom editor of Frontier Myanmar, was arrested for his activities beyond journalism.
  • At the meeting between Russian and Myanmar business people, there were discussions on five sectors, including the electricity sector which could be implemented within the short term.
  • At a press conference on Thursday, the junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said that they would focus more on prosperity and security in the country rather than on current prices of the dollar and gold.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG announced that Daw Zin Mar Aung, Union Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Ann Linde, Swedish Foreign Minister, and discussed the current political situation of Myanmar, hardships caused by the military coup and democratic movements in the country.
  • The public have been taking part in the People’s Defensive War. According to the NUG, there were attacks on 16 military targets of the enemy, 8 administration targets and 3 business targets.

Revolution Activities

  • On Thursday, Kalay townspeople protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Wetlet Township, there was a march against the military dictatorship at a village on Thursday.
  • A combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East expressed their desire against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Shwebo Township, local residents of a village marched in support of the NUG on Thursday morning. They also showed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.
  • As 234-day protest, Mandalay Monks’ Union marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • On Thursday morning, a rally of Mandalay-based people conducted a protest against the military dictatorship.
  • In Mandalay, a combined rally of variety forces and LGBT expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • On Thursday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • On Thursday, a rally of southern Dawei carried out a motorbike strike, “Let’s support the CDM to fuel the flame of the revolution”.
  • In a village of Longlone Township, youth led a march against the military dictatorship on Wednesday night.
  • In Paung Township of Mon State, there was a protest against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Gantgaw Township of Magwe Region, the junta armed forces set fire to Hnanka village for the third time on Thursday morning. Reportedly, 8 houses were burnt down.
  • In Loikaw of Kayar State, the junta armed forces destroyed public’s houses in Konetha battle the previous day.
  • In Dagon Myothit Seikkam Township of Yangon Region, there was a bomb explosion at Yuzana Garden City at about 9:23 pm Wednesday. Reportedly, the junta armed forces investigated people from the neighborhood by beating them.
  • In Chin State, junta soldiers shot at a car from Hakha to Tantalang on Wednesday evening. Reportedly, a person died and another one was injured.
  • In Moemauk of Kachin State, 3 mines were found near the monastery in Kyaynan Ward at about 11:00 am Thursday.
  • In Myitgyina Township of Kachin State, a convoy of 20 military trucks carrying rations passed near Agyel village at about 8:00 am Thursday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • Karenni State Police (KSP) announced that they, in cooperation with other related organizations, arrested 10 suspects in recent days. After investigation, they released 5 people and detained another 5 informers at their detention place.
  • In Moemauk Township of Kachin State, there was a fighting between KIA and the junta armed forces at Longya mountain at about 10:00 am Thursday.
  • On Shan-Kayar border, four Pekone PDF members lost their lives in Konetha battle against the junta armed forces. Their funerals were carried out at their native village at about 7:00 am Thursday.
  • According to KNU Regiment (5), 6 junta soldiers died and 5 others were injured in the battles between the military and KNLA in Phapun District from 27th to 29th September.
  • According to KNDF, 30 junta soldiers died and 30 others got injured in the battle against a combination of Karenni forces and KNDF at Konetha village in Loikaw Township of Kayar State on Wednesday.

Summary on 30th September

  • In the tenure of the military junta, the foreign currency income has decreased with hyperinflation. Assumingly, they also lack foreign currency. Consequently, they might ban imports gradually. It is likely that everything would become scarce like the situation in the administration of previous military dictators.
  • In Sagaing, Kayar, Chin, Kachin and Kayin, there were battles between the junta army and local PDFs/ EAOs. The military junta had a great loss there. As for PDFs, they had some casualties.
  • In the areas with internet blackout, the military junta constantly conducted human rights violations. Consequently, local residents had to run away.
  • As for Yangon, Mandalay, Dawei and Sagaing, they had public protests, urban guerrilla revolution and clearance activities of junta informers.
