The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • At 8:00 am Wednesday, there was an online meeting between Committee on International Relations- CRPH and the NUG Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • The NUG announced that they had blacklisted and dismissed 109 non-CDM staff members from the office of humanitarian aid and disaster risks management for their failure to support IDPs and serving the military junta at a time while they commit war crimes.
  • The NUG announced that their delegation had attended the funeral of Peng Jiasheng, the former Chair of the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA).
  • The NUG Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment, in cooperation with the Union Audit Office, conducted an online workshop on sending financial contributions to the NUG.
  • The NUG Ministry of Labor released guidance for local and foreign employment agencies.

Revolution Activities

  • Actor Daung has been organizing a program where he sells all his artworks and donates the money to the needy in Myanmar during the revolution.
  • According to Bago District PDF, they conducted a mine attack a junta security gate on the expressway on Thursday.
  • On the 417th day of protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Shwebo Township in Sagaing Region, Pyu Hsaw Tee leader Aung Myint was reportedly seriously injured in a mine attack carried out by a local PDF on 17 March.
  • In Shwebo Township, there was a mine attack on the junta armed forces during their mine clearance operation between Mingala Village and Zeegone Village. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died. Similarly, there was a bomb attack using a drone on junta troops stationed in Seikkun Village. Casualty numbers are unknown.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a combined rally of three villages marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Khin-U Township, the junta armed forces raided and set fire to Sharlwin Village and Kalarlu Village on Wednesday. Reportedly, they ruthlessly killed three young people who went there to put out the fire.
  • On Thursday, local residents of Shwebo Township marched against the military dictatorship. They also prayed for the release of political prisoners including the State Counsellor and President, the victory of PDFs and EAOs in battles and the success of the Spring Revolution.
  • In Tatgone Township in Nay Pyi Taw, there was a bomb attack on the junta army in Htantawgyi Village. Reportedly, a junta soldier was injured.
  • In Meiktila in Mandalay Region, U Htein Min Khine, one of the main members of the 88 Generation, was arrested, together with his family, by the junta army at 10:00 pm Wednesday.
  • At 7:30 pm on Wednesday, Taungtha PDF conducted an attack with M79 weapons on Mahlaing Township Police Station. Reportedly, the two-storey building was hit and four police officers were injured.
  • In Kawhmu Township in Yangon Region, there was a bomb attack at the police station on Wednesday evening. After the loud explosion, neighboring streets were blocked off for inspections and ambulances entered the police station.
  • In Pauk Township in Magwe Region, a local PDF fired 4 mortars at the junta army factory (24) at 3:45 pm on Wednesday.
  • In Myaing Township, a combined force of PDFs attacked the junta army who came there to strengthen Bahin Police Station. Reportedly, at least one junta soldier died.
  • In Zalun in Ayeyarwaddy Region, Toe Mg, a main supporter of the junta army, was shot dead by a local PDF at 11:00 am Wednesday.
  • In Kyaikto Township in Mon State, a combined force of the KNLA and PDFs attacked the junta army camp at the Moatpalin Crossroads on Thursday morning. Reportedly, 10 members of the junta armed forces died. After the incident, junta soldiers inspected one house after another in Moatpalin Village.
  • In Longlone Township inTaninthayi Region, youths marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday, while holding anti-junta signs.
  • At the junta court in Dawei Prison, Ko Zay Lin Oo, a political activist, was sentenced to 21 years in prison on six charges.
  • In Dimawso Township inKarenni State, a house in Dawkuli Village was damaged by mortar fired from the junta army at 7:00 am Thursday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Fruso Township in Karenni State, the Karenni combined force attacked the junta armed forces in a local police station from 2:20 pm to 3:30 pm on Wednesday. Reportedly, eight junta soldiers, including an officer, died.
  • In Chin State, the junta army from Matupi was attacked twice by a local CDF on Thursday morning. Reportedly, 14 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • In Kawkareik Township under the control of KNU Brigade (6), there was a fighting between the junta army and KNLA on Thursday morning. Reportedly, 15 junta soldiers died.
  • According to the Mutraw Newsletter, the KNU made shot at junta helicopters dropping rations and weapons to Mewai junta army camp in the area under KNU Brigade (5) and confiscated the supplies.

The Military Council

  • According to the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, they did not have enough power to provide more electricity during the matriculation examinations.
  • The military junta announced that they had set up a special investigation taskforce to investigate the problem of counterfeit money and with the help of technology, they managed to arrest the swindlers.
  • According to the junta media, members of the military junta gave the names of some political prisoners who deserve to be released at their 3/2022 meeting.
  • Reportedly, the Myanmar Investment Commission permitted seven new projects including a solar power plant that will produce 20 MW.
  • The junta Writers’ Association expressed their objection to a mine attack on a train carrying artists.
  • The chair of the junta’s Myanmar Investment Commission said that there had been Foreign Direct Investment worth $685 million USD in the six months following the military coup.
  • The junta education minister said that arts and science universities, and education colleges will reopen on 12 May.

Summary on 01 April

  • To show the international community that they can rule the country, the military junta has arranged to reopen schools and universities. The number of students taking this year’s matriculation exam is fewer than in previous years.
  • According to the junta media, junta members told the junta leader that some political prisoners deserve to be released. Consequently, some prisoners might be released during Myanmar’s New Year from 13 to 15 April.
  • All across the country, there were protests and revolutionary activities. In Sagaing, Yangon and Bago regions and Chin, Karenni, Karen and Mon states there was fierce fighting and the anti-junta movements gained more momentum.
