Some 200 jade traders using WeChat (an Internet social networking site) for dealing, near 84th and 43rd Streets in Maha Aung Myay Township, Mandalay region were arrested by junta troops at noon on December 20, according to locals.

According to locals, the detainees have not been contacted yet, although the news said that they will have to pay 1 million kyats each spread.

Last month, the military council forces threatened to shoot the gem traders if they did not trade in Kyat Wine jade market but outside.
