People's defence forces raided an office of Mytel, the junta-owned telecommunications company, in Sagaing Region's Monywa Township at about 2:00 p.m. on 2 August.

A statement by the Monywa People's Defense Force (MPDF), one of the groups involved in the raid on the office in Ledi Ward said that equipment, including 104 routers, four laptops and four line cutting tools was burnt. Business documents and employees' personal information was also seized and removed.

The raid was jointly carried out by Monywa People's Defense Force (MPDF), Monywa District Battalion (1), Monywa Township People's Defense Force and Monywa Township Public Security Force.
