A Myanmar Beer producing factory in Yangon was attacked and damaged by a resistance group on the evening of 12 October.

At around 7:00 pm, a guerrilla ground fired two 107 mm mortar shells at the military-owned factory in Pyin Ma Pin Industrial Zone, located on No. (3) highway road in Mingalardon township in the Yangon Region.

The attack is believed to have been facilitated with insider assistance. Urban Special Operation who conducted a follow-up operation after the incident have stated that significant damage occurred, resulting in numerous injuries. Two ambulances were reportedly called to the scene to provide medical assistance.

According to the news and information officer of the Urban Special Operation, the shells hit the main building of the factory, resulting in significant damages both internally and externally.

In response to this incident, the Urban special operations team has announced that they will intensify their efforts. Additionally, the officer has urged the public to exercise caution and be wary of participating in any festivities or events organized by the Military Council.

This was not the first time this factory has been targeted. The factory was attacked in April and September last year.

The Myanmar resistance has called on the public to boycott products made by the Myanmar junta as they claim the money earned helps support the junta and its business cronies.
