Pyu Saw Htee militia training camp attacked in Sagaing

A junta’s military officer and three members of the junta aligned Pyu Saw Htee militia were killed in an attack against their training camp in Htaw Thar village in Sagaing Region’s Mawlaik Township, according to a People’s Defense Force (PDF) report.

The Pyu Saw Htee training camp, which is 10 miles from Mawlaik Town, was attacked at 10:30 am on 14 March by a joint force of PDF groups

PDFs said in the statement that five carbines, 850 carbine bullets, 390 bullets for 5.56 guns, two A3 bombs and six mobile phones were confiscated and after the fighting, the home of a Pyu Saw Htee leader was set on fire and the training camp was seized.

"The village is like a stronghold of the Pyu Saw Htee group. There was a junta military Captain and two soldiers and about 25 Pyu Saw Htee trainees at the training. Soon after the training started, we attacked them. It was early in the morning and they ran away,” said an officer from PDF-Kalewa who was involved in the attack.

The attack was jointly carried out by Kalewa PDF, Mawlaik PDF and the Mawlaik Township PDF (Pa.Ka.Pha) They suffered no casualties.

Htaw Thar village is a large village with more than 160 houses and most of the villagers are members of Pyu Saw Htee. This is the first time that Pyu Saw Htee training has been provided in Mawlaik Township.

Currently, more than 100 military junta troops from Mawlaik Township are stationed in the village.
