A leader from the Myanmar junta-aligned Pyu Saw Htee militia was killed in fighting near Padaukpin Village, in Sagaing Region’s Kantbalu Township on 13 June.

He died when fighting broke out between a Pyu Saw Htee column and local defence forces near Padaukpin Village at 8:00 a.m. on 13 June.

“The man killed in the fighting was Htay Win. He was one of the Pyu Saw Htee leaders and was always with junta military columns”, said a local defence force member.

They explained that 50-year-old Htay Win led the West Htankone Village-Tract Pyu Saw Htee militia unit.

Many junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members transported Htay Win's body to his home in Kanyoe Village, in Kantbalu Township on 14 June, according to locals.

Also on 14 June, a column of about 64 junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militia members set off for Kawlin Township from Koetaungboe village in Kantbalu Township.

10 minutes after leaving, defence forces attacked them with explosive devices as they were crossing a bridge near Wahyonekone Village, in Kawlin Township. The results of the attack are still not known.
