Myanmar citizens in Japan protested on August 30 in support of Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun as the Myanmar ambassador to the United Nations.

Supporters staged a demonstration outside the embassy of Ethiopia representing the 55-nation African Union (AU) in Tokyo, and tried to send an open letter, but without success.

A representative of Myanmar to the UN headquarter will be elected in September. The decision will be made by the nine-member Credentials Committee, which is part of the General Assembly.
