The YSO Island Spotted Army guerrilla group (Yso-ISA) issued a statement on the morning of 18 March saying that Akar Sein, a policeman from Myaytaw police station in Magway Region’s Yesagyo Township, joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) against the military regime.
The statement said, "We, the Yso- ISA guerrillas, have sent the policeman Arker Sein who left his post, to a liberated area with an award of 3 million Kyat on 8 March. If other troops of the military regime want to join the CDM, they will be warmly welcomed by the people."
A statement from Yso-ISA said the reason for the delay with the press release was due to the fact that the policeman joining the CDM was being transported to a liberated area.
