A policeman and a young man were shot dead in Ah Myint old city, Monywa District, Sagaing region on December 16, according to locals.

"Two men on a motorcycle came and fired. The policeman died on the spot. The boy was taken to hospital. He died there,” said a local.

The two unidentified gunmen opened fire on the policeman named Bala from Ah Myint Police Station who was playing a board game at a betel shop near Ah Myint Market, his body was taken to Chaung-U Police Station, said a local.

It was said that a 17-year-old man who was playing face to face with the policeman was shot in the head and taken to Monywa General Hospital, where he died of severe injuries.
