Operation Myananda (Mandalay) Information Bureau released a statement 28 September confirming that during a drone attack on the Yaynathar Police Station in Madaya Township in Mandalay, three bombs were dropped, resulting in the death of one policeman and injuries to four junta soldiers.

The People Defense Forces of the Operation Myananda (Mandalay) Information Bureau and Madaya PDF carried out a joint attack on the police station, which was occupied by more than 50 junta soldiers. The attack was conducted using a Fixed Wing Drone (unmanned aerial vehicle) starting from approximately 6:30 am on 27 September.

“We dropped bombs with the Fixed Wing Drone three times. The first one had an error and did not explode. The latter two hit the exact target and exploded. We received the casualty report from our on-ground scout team,” said an official from the Operation Myananda (Mandalay).

Following the explosion, the villages near the police station were cordoned off for further investigation. The Madaya People Defense Forces (PDF) reported that two ambulances were used to transport the injured soldiers to the military hospitals.

According to reports, the joint forces launched an attack on a military column, which involved more than 100 junta soldiers. The incident occurred on 27 September, at approximately 9:00 am near Myaungthit Bridge. The attack was carried out using a drone.

According to the statement, the operation failed since the drone was shot down during the attack.

The Operation Myananda (Mandalay) was formed at the end 2022 and has since conducted nearly 40 successful operations. However, the force is currently facing challenges due to insufficient funds, which hampers their ability to accelerate military operations.

Therefore, Operation Myananda (Mandalay) force has appealed to the public for assistance.
