The People’s Party made an announcement saying they will not take part in telecasting their election campaign speech on their policies on state-run radio and television in protest at the editing and censoring of their speech by the Union Election Commission (UEC).

The party’s response addressed to the UEC says that the commission asked them to delete some text of the party’s policy and opinion in their speech on state-run radio and television.

The announcement made by People’s Party further says that the text UEC wanted to be deleted from the party’s campaign speech did not infringe any one of the 9-point prohibitions made by UEC.
