A member of the Pathein PDF, who opened fire on a maritime police station on Kann Nar Road, Pathein township, Ayeyarwady region on November 16, died at the military hospital on Pathein Taung Paw Street, according to family members.

Maung Nyan fired at police from the Pathein Maritime Police Station and was wounded and arrested by police, according to a local resident.

People close to the family said he died on November 17, and his family was notified to retrieve his body on November 18.

The Pathein District Urban guerrilla force (PSTF) issued a statement of condolences for the death of Comrade Maung Nyan.
