An official from Operation Myananda (Mandalay) informed Mizzima that a drone attack targeted a Military Council's column on patrol in Tabayin Township, Sagaing Region, potentially resulting in damage.

On the evening of 21 October, a drone strike was conducted against the junta column that had conducted a raid on Ngaweataw village in Tabayin Township.

A spokesperson for the PDF stated that the attack was launched on 21 October, following a two-day reconnaissance mission aimed at targeting the Military Council column.

The spokesperson said, "The bombs we deployed struck the column's intended path accurately. We carried out reconnaissance on the junta column for two days before we carried out the drone attack. Assessing the extent of the damage is challenging due to the remote location. We are currently conducting investigations to verify the situation on the ground."

Following the attack, the Military Council column retaliated by using both small and large weapons fire and proceeded to enter the neighbouring village known as Kyi. No civilian casualties have been reported yet.

Starting on 19 October, the Military Council forces have been deploying military columns to Tabayin Township using the route through Ye-U Township. According to reports from local residents, the junta troops have been responsible for setting fire to houses and paddy barns in Wa Par Village in Tabayin Township.

People’s Defence Forces or PDF have been increasing their use of drones to drop bombs on Myanmar junta positions.
