NUG Ministry of Defense reports 330 Myanmar military soldier deaths in August

The Ministry of Defense (MOD) of the National Unity Government (NUG) has announced that in the month of August, 430 battles took place in Military Operation Region No. (1) of the NUG government. These battles resulted in the reported deaths of 330 soldiers from the military council with 454 injuries.

The MOD's statement released on 21 September specifically highlights the situation in regions such as Sagaing, Magway, Mandalay and Northern Shan State within the larger area recognized by the NUG as Military Operation Region No. (1).

According to the announcement, a total of 430 battles occurred during August, including 189 firearm attacks and 56 drone attacks. These clashes led to the deaths of 330 Military Council soldiers and injuries to 454 others. Additionally, significant amounts of military equipment, including eight assorted weapons and four drones, were seized from the Military Council troops.

The statement also acknowledges the sacrifices made by the People's Defense Forces (PDF) and Ethnic Resistance Organizations (EROs), as 18 PDF soldiers lost their lives in the battles and 55 others were injured.

The battles were carried out by the PDFs and EROs and local defense forces under the Military Operation Region No. (1) command.

Currently, the clashes between the military troops and the PDFs are ongoing in Magway Region, particularly in Yaw and Gangaw Townships within Military Operation Region No. (1) of the MOD.
