The National Unity Government’s (NUG) Yangon Region Military Command released a statement saying that they had carried out 46 attacks in 10 days against the military junta in the Yangon region, as part of their Pyan Hlwar Aung Operation.

From January 22 to February 1, members of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) caused numerous casualties when they attacked Tatmadaw camps, deployment areas, outposts and, even the houses of a Lieutenant Colonel and a Major.

They attacked the House of Lieutenant Colonel Yan Naing Win, the Head of the Air Force Administration Department, on U Aung Zeya 10th Street, in Banyadala Ward, Dala Township, and the house of Zeyar Myint Thein, the deputy battalion commander of the Inn Tine Battalion, on Mala Myaing 3rd Street in Hlaing Township.

An information and psychological operations officer of the Yangon Region Military Command told Mizzima: “People’s resistance has not diminished. One year on from the coup it has intensified. All the operations were well planned so that they did not affect the people's silent strike protests against the military dictatorship. We will continue [to resist] as much as we can with all our people until the military dictatorship, including Min Aung Hlaing and the military leaders, is completely eradicated from Burmese soil. We will win very soon.”

Yangon Region Military Command praised all the different members of revolutionary groups who were sacrificing their lives for the people’s revolution and urged people to work together as much as they can to overthrow the military dictatorship.
