Tanintharyi Region legislative assembly Myeik constituency (2) candidate of National League for Democracy (NLD), Min Zaw Tint, said that they were facing difficulties in controlling big crowds of their supporters rallying in their campaigns in Myeik Township.

In conducting election campaigns, NLD follows guidelines and restrictions adopted by the Ministry of Health for controlling and containing COVID-19 in distributing campaign leaflets and face masks to the voters in their constituencies but the supporters of the party rallied around them with motorcades and motorcycles wherever they went.

House of Representatives (lower house) candidate Okkar Min said that political parties including NLD were currently distributing face masks to voters and spraying disinfectant in their constituencies rather than doing formal election campaigns.

After facing huge crowds of supporters in their campaigns, NLD would stop formal election campaigns with motorcades and would change to door-to-door campaigns by candidates instead, NLD said.
