Myanmar’s NUG works to build CDM People’s Police

Myanmar’s National Unity Government (NUG) is working to build an alternative to the military junta’s police force under what is called the CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) People’s Police.

On Thursday, the NUG announced the formation of a temporary executive committee for the CDM People's Police, according to a report by DVB.

The committee will work towards supporting CDM police officers and their families, whilst encouraging other active officers to join the CDM in anticipation of a future Federal Police Force.

The NUG is working to encourage police officers and soldiers to come over to the people’s side in the current conflict.
