Myanmar’s first female globetrotter Daw Tin Tin Sein passes away

Myanmar’s first female globetrotter Daw Tin Tin Sein aka Buddhist nun Daw Dhama Nanda who travelled from Yangon to London by a motorcycle in 1955, died of natural illness on July 29, according to her family.

She passed away at Thukha Gabar Hospital in Yangon at 8:15 pm on 29 July.

She entered Buddhist nunhood in 2019.

Her body will be donated for medical research in accordance with her prior consent.

She, alongside her husband U Ba Toke, drove a motorcycle from Yangon to London and their trip covered 30 nations.

During their motorcycle trip, the couple met then-Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in India.
