Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar’s ambassador to the United Nations, who refused to leave his post despite being dismissed after the military coup, said on August 4 that he received an apparent threat and that US authorities were stepping up his security, according to Reuters.

No further details were immediately available. The FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A State Department spokesperson said: "We do not discuss details of our protective operations."
