A Myanmar team has been in India to buy the COVID-19 vaccines for 15 million Myanmar citizens, said the State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi.

She made the remarks in a public address on the night of 24 December regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our main focus now is on vaccines. Now our team is in India to buy the vaccines for 15 million people. We will know the details of the purchase of the vaccines next week,” she said.

Aung San Suu Kyi added that high priority will be given to health workers when it comes to vaccination.
