Myanmar sees further rise in COVID-19 cases

Myanmar has seen a further rise in COVID-19 cases taking the total to 1,133.

As of the latest count on Saturday morning, there were 1,133 cases, 359 recorded recoveries and six deaths, according to the tally from the Ministry of Health and Sports, reported by DVB.

Among 1133 cases found in Myanmar from 23 March to 3 September, the most cases were found in Rakhine State, followed by Yangon as the second most cases found area.

Due to COVID-19 infection rise, Wa self-administered zone is closed to outside visitors, said a spokesperson from UWSA external communication department. However, the Zone’s trading remains open and restrictions will be changed depends on the COVID-19 situation.

A confirmed case from South Okkalapa township is a staff member at Capital Supermarket in North Dagon township. The supermarket is now under lockdown and the confirmed patient was sent to South Okkalapa hospital for treatment.
