Myanmar resistance groups carried out two simultaneous attacks on junta targets Tanze immigration office and the Daung Min fuel station in Tanze Township in Sagaing Region killing 14 soldiers and including the seizure of 14 firearms.

Just after midnight on 22 September at 12:30 am, resistance forces launched a coordinated attack on the Military Council forces stationed at both the Tanze immigration office and the Daung Min fuel station.

“Approximately 30 troops were stationed at the two places. During the simultaneous raids on these two places, we successfully confiscated 14 weapons, along with firearms and motorbikes and causing the death of 14 soldiers from the junta,” said a spokesperson of the Tanze People’s Defense Force.

The conflict between the two sides persisted for over two and a half hours, he noted, adding that both locations were set on fire during the attack.

It is reported that a total of 14 firearms, including G-3, MA-3, MA-1, and revolver guns, were confiscated from the Military Council in the two targeted locations.

The Daung Min fuel station and the Immigration office, situated in the northern part of Tanze, are slightly over a mile away from the township's police station.

The attacks were conducted in collaboration with the Tanze People's Defense Force, District Artillery Force, and other battalions from Shwe Bo District. Unfortunately, one fighter from the Tanze People's Defense Force died during the confrontation, according the spokesperson.

The Military Council has reportedly bolstered its forces in Tanze Township in response. They are actively clearing the areas that were targeted in the attacks and imposing restrictions on residents, prohibiting them from leaving their homes.
