At the time when tens of thousands of civil servants across the country have staged protests against the coup in the streets, military coup leader Min Aung Hlaing has accused them of failing their responsibilities "because of the encouragement of some crooks".

In his A-4 four-page long speech, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing spoke about voter fraud and called on the people to remain healthy during the COVID-19 period.

Coup Leader Min Aung Hlaing in his report called on civil servants to attend their offices. He complained that “due to unscrupulous persons' incitement, some civil service personnel have failed to perform their duties at present”. And he requested through the report that “to return to their duties immediately for the interests of the country and people without focusing on the emotion”.

Many civil servants have joined anti-coup protests that have been taking place in many towns and cities.

According to the latest figures from the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), the junta has detained more than 280 people nationwide in one week.
