Junta leader, Min Aung Hlaing, claimed that Myanmar’s economy is growing and will continue to do so if the current momentum can be maintained and great efforts are made.

The comments were made to businessmen in Tanintharyi on 4 November, during Min Aung Hlaing’s tour of Tanintharyi Region.

The general also said that he had faced many difficulties when he first took control but that he would overcome these difficulties and the economy would improve.

As the general has said to all the businessmen he has spoken to during his domestic tours, he told the Tanintharyi businessmen to pay back loans they have taken from the government. He also told them to use electric vehicles to reduce their consumption of petrol and diesel as it has to be bought with foreign currency.
