More than 2,600 IDPs flee fighting in Bawlakha Township, Kayah State

Progressive Karenni People's Force (PKPF) announced on July 20 that the resumption of fighting in Kayah (Karenni) State has led to more than 2,600 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from seven villages.

At present, the basic necessities for the IDps are shelters, medicines for children and the elderly as well as food, rice, oil, salt and dry rations, food that is durable and easy to transport, Women's pads, baby accessories and black garbage bags to store water – all are urgently needed.

"The Covid-19 outbreaking is getting worse. The main requirements for refugees are food and medicine," a local refugee official told Mizzima.
