Miss Myanmar Thuzar Wint Lwin has found refuge in the United States and will now work there as a model and will not have to face persecution after speaking out against the February coup, GMAnetwork reported.

On May 24, a week after the Miss Universe 2020 pageant, Thuzar Wint Lwin, a.k.a. Candy Thuzar, was welcomed by the Chin community in Indianapolis.

The Burmese community in Indiana reportedly worked together to provide asylum for Candy and helped her land a job as a model in New York City. In a post on the Myanmar Celebrity TV Club Facebook page, it was revealed that Candy will be working as a model at the We Are JEM Model Agency.
