Military junta troops set fire to Htan Zin Village in Sagaing’s Yinmarbin Township

A local resident said that fourteen houses in Htan Zin Village, in Sagaing Region’s Yinmarbin Township, were set on fire by junta troops at around 10:30 am on 16 March.

“About 50 junta troops have been stationed in Ban Bwe village for a long time and they are raiding nearby villages every day. Today the junta troops arrived at Htan Zin Village at around 10 am. When they came, we are scared of them as if they were ghosts or monsters. We fled when they came to the village. The village was set on fire at about 10:30. We came back to village to put out the fire when the junta troops had left the village. Fourteen houses were burnt down. Pigs and cows were slaughtered for no reason and houses were also ransacked”, said a local resident.
