The captain of Yadanarbon United FC ordered the assassination of the administrator of Patkone Winkyin ward, Chan Aye Thar San Township in Mandalay, according to state media.

The assassination took place at the Pat Kone Winkin ward administration office between 29th and 30th streets, 72 Street, Chan Mya Thar Si Township on August 18. Aung Swe Tun, the 46-year-old ward administrator, was killed in the shooting.

Military Council said that 33-year old Aung Myo Kyaw (a.k.a) Tha Gyi and 21- year old motorcyclist Khant Si Thu (a.k.a ) Marshall, identified by the military council as gunmen, were arrested at a guest house on the corner of 46th and 105th (A) Streets, in Chan Mya Thar Si Township.

According to state media, the two testified that Yadanarbon United FC captain Win Naing Soe (a.k.a) Pe Chay instructed them regarding the assassination, and the captain is still at large.
