A military council convoy hits mines in Myinmu Township

A local guerrilla group said a convoy of six military vehicles was attacked with four landmines on the Mandalay-Monywa Road between Wan Pyae and Alakappa villages in Myinmu Township on December 20.

Although some 12 troops were killed and many injured in the attack, Mizzima has not been able to confirm this report separately.

The attack was led by the Black Eagle Defense Force (MMU). The Myin Mu Defense Force (MMDF), Myinmu Hlyat Si guerrilla group, People's Defense Force Myinmu- MMUPDF; Myaung Township People's Defense and Security Organization (CDSOM) joined together for fighting against junta force.

On December 17, military council’s troops hit mines between Wan Pyae village and Alakkap village in Myinmu Township, killing eight soldiers.
