Military Council to act against 88 Generation leader U Jimmy on six charges

The Military is planning to prosecute 88 Generation leader U Kyaw Min Yu (a.k.a) U Jimmy on six counts, including terrorism.

The Military media reported that Jimmy was charged under a total of five counts: the Anti-Terrorism Law in 2014, Section 124 of the Penal Code, the unlawful Associations Act, Arms Act and the Explosive Substances Act today, November 8.

U Jimmy was charged under Section 505 (b) of the Penal Code on 11 February after the military coup. He was arrested by the coup junta at Pinlon Housing in North Dagon Township, Yangon at the night of October 23.

Six AK-47 assault rifles, eight M-16 rifles, two 12-volt pistols, a locally made gun, eighteen rounds of ammunition were confiscated from him, and the military council accused him of conspiracy with the NUG / CRPH / NUCC.

U Jimmy is reportedly being treated at Mingaladon Military Hospital for serious head injuries after being arrested by the military. Family members said they were concerned because the exact details were not known.
