Mandalay’s Kyaukse District General Administration Office bombed

The junta’s Kyaukse District General Administration Office in Mandalay Region was bombed by the Kyaukse District Defense Force (KDDF).

The KDDF leader said that the group threw two grenades at the General Administration Office on Bogyoke Park Road in Tat Min Ton Ward in Kyaukse at 10:35 am on 3 March.

"We threw grenades into the office compound. Another one was thrown at the gate. There were two junta soldiers at the gate. Details of the damage are not yet known. After the explosions we had to retreat because of random gunfire from inside”, he told Mizzima.

The People's Defence Forces were able to withdraw unharmed, and apparently, junta troops blocked and inspected the road because of the explosion.

A local resident in Kyaukse said, “The general administration office is about a ward away from our place, but we heard the sound. I heard two explosions. Then I saw two ambulances pass by”, he said.

Another local resident said that people arrested by junta troops were interrogated at the General Administration Office.

"It may have physically and mentally affected them because a lot of police officers and soldiers are stationed where the bomb attack happened. We want those who terrorize people to know that their lives are in danger", said the KDDF leader.

Similarly, on 2 March, the KDDF bombed three Mytel mobile phone communication towers in the west of North Kyauk Mai Village in Sint Kaing Township and in Kyaukse District.
