Military junta fighter planes bombarded the area around an internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in Kayah (Karenni) State for no apparent reason on the morning of 24 February, according to reports.

According to the Karenni National Defence Force (KNDF) the bombardment killed two civilians and burned down some houses in Daw Ka Mee Village in Nang Mae Khon Town.

It was the ninth consecutive day of fighting in the area when a group of military aircraft bombed the area near the IDP camp and forced more people to flee their homes.
