Let Wel and Myingni Village raided by Military Council troops money and mobile phones looted

According to locals, the military council confiscated more than 800,000 kyat that is the village fund and mobile phones because they could not arrest anyone after they had arrived in Let Wel and Myingni Village.

With the help of Administrator San Win, 30 or so troops of the Military Council arrived at Let Wel and Myinni village in Nwa Hto Gyi Township in Myingyan District, Mandalay Region at about 4 am to arrest youths who have already completed military training and weapons.

A villager told Mizzima that the soldiers first raided Tun Naing's house and took two mobile phones and money(cash) from his family when they could not find and arrest him. "I heard dogs barking and I had to run because these guys had arrived," he said.

When they did not find Aung Moe Oo in his house, they arrested 60-year-old Aung Htoo, his father and confiscated the phones of family members in the house. Aung Htoo was released around 9 am.

Tun Naing, a 40-year-old resident of Let wel and Myinni village, took an active part in the election campaign for the National League for Democracy (NLD) and the anti-military movement, and the village administrator was a member of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP).
