A local combined people defence force reportedly killed 9 soldiers in Kalay Township of Sagaing, according to the report of PDF-Kalay on 27 June evening.

Three military vehicles, carrying about 50 soldiers travelling from Gangaw Township of Magway region to Kalay Township of Sagaing Region, around 1 pm, were ambushed by the PDF (Kalay) between Khwekyein village and Thanpho village, killing at least 9 soldiers and many injured.

The PDF (Kalay) had no injuries.

The PDF guerrillas also conducted a landmine attack on 20 military vehicles on the same route around 1 pm on 26 June near Panmonchaung bridge in Kalay.

Although there were some deaths in the incident, the number could not be identified.
