Rescue workers told Mizzima that at least 10 people are missing after a landslide occurred while searching for jade with machines at a jade mining site in Hpakant, Kachin State and there is little chance of being them found alive.

The landslide occurred near Mana Maw on December 19.

“Rescue operations have been ongoing since the early hours of the morning after the landslide, but no one has been found so far, and there is very little chance of anyone being found alive," say Rescue workers.
