The Kyaukse District Drone Force (KDDF) has declared that it conducted 37 assaults on Military Council units and columns in the Mandalay and Sagaing regions over a span of five months.

Following its establishment in April 2023, the drone operations were executed in collaboration with regional allied defense forces. Commencing on 13 April, the attacks specifically targeted Military Council bases, checkpoints, and interrogation centres.

The statement confirmed that a total of 37 drone bombings were carried out until 5 September of this year.

“Conducting the 37 attacks on the Military Council was not a simple task due to the presence of numerous drone jammers in their bases. Flying the drones required significant effort each time to overcome the jamming and maintain uninterrupted communication. The team had to work diligently to counter the jamming and ensure the success of our missions,” said the in-charge of KDDF.

According to the statement, the attacks resulted in the death of 293 members of the Military Council. Additionally, at least 94 members were reported to have sustained injuries during these incidents.

When Mizzima asked the drone force to confirm about the death of the Military Council soldiers, "We were able to confirm through the informants on the ground," said the officer in charge of the drone force.

It has been announced that a total of 427 drone bombs were used during the five-month operation, at a cost of around $32 per bomb.

However, despite these challenges, none of the drones were reported to have crashed during the operations.

“The drones used in the attacks did sustain damage. However, we are currently able to repair the drones. The main challenge lies in the time and cost required for these repairs,” the in-charge said.

The KDDF is under the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG) and is conducting operations in the entire Kyaukse District.

NUG Ministry of Defense’s Deputy Secretary Maung Maung Swe also said that more than 400 drones have been deployed in various parts of Myanmar to attack the Military Council.
