The People's Defense Force-Kyaukhtu’s news and information officer has confirmed to Mizzima that about 10 soldiers were killed and a military vehicle damaged in a landmine attack on a military convoy.

The Kyaukhtu PDF said four vehicles driving near Pon Taung Pon Nya mountain range, on the Pakokku-Kyaukhtu-Mindat Road between Yaw and Pakokku triggered the mine.

The vehicles were returning from Kyaukhtu town to Pakokku township. The Kyaukhtu People's Defense Forces’ social media Facebook confirmed the destruction of military vehicles and the deaths of the soldiers.
